Don't know about toughest but level drainers are no doubt the biggest pain in the ass.

personally my vote for toughest living (ie non-undead) is dragons, with beholders close on their heels, if the beholder got to use their powers like in PnP (if surrounded they get to attack with all eyes, attacked from above allows use of all eyes, etc) the only reason a party should be able to beat a beholder, is several exceptional strength archers with bows that give them strength bonuses, several henchmen to draw fire from the main party, and spellcasters to serve as tasty treats for the beholders.

a dragon on the wing is easily the most deadly living creature in d&d, if given the chance to fight on it's own turf

There are only 3 dragons in the game(right?) so they'd qualify as level bosses Morgruat,& yeah ive had a lot of trouble with mind flayers & illithids had to create a wall of summoned creature(athkatla sewers) & have my party use missile weapons on them, while they massacred my summoned creatures

I found that 5 hasted skeleton warriors with defensive harmony worked most times against mind flayers and when backed up by an archer with the tuigan shortbow the mind flayers just dropped. As for my worst enemy, the sahguin(upgraded version) with paraletic bolts.

Just, thinking, skeleton warriors have around 90% MR (IIRC), so doesn't the haste spell get negated (most of the time) by this MR? I know that improved haste bypasses MR, but the last time I played this game, the 3rd level haste spell was blocked by characters and summons with high magic resistance (probably because it has negative effects afterwards rather than being a beneficial spell).

Hmmmmmm..............

Wonder if it being cast by a stalker has something to do with it, but at the end of the day, a haste spell is a haste spell!

Actually, Liches are immune to Breach. Just tested.
Very annoying!
