Thanks for the help folks (will post spoiler alert next time). I was hoping I could do a quick in-and-out rescue (of Imoen) and come back and complete the Asylum later. But, since that options isn't available, I reckon I will clean up all of the early quests and then head off for the Asylum and Imoen. I figured that I could come back and do the early quests later in the game (after the Asylum) but my fear is that my party will be too strong then and the quests won't be as challenging as they might be now.
