For Jonal:

You enter the darkness and lie low for about a minute, you hear a horse move closer and then gradually move away. Since in the darkness you don't see anything, you have to rely on your hearing, but apart from the horse moving, you hear nothing, and even after more than a full minute passes the darkness still perseveres.

Ghar Dien 29/47 3/70

His opponent quickly lashed out at him, but missed. Ghar was now in battle fully, and thought almost of nothing, relying on his well-honed animal instincts to fight and kill. He used the openness of the man to jump on him and to try and sink his sharp fangs in his flesh, anywhere. If nothing, he will latch on to the man with his claws, and that will keep him from attacking with his axe.

The priest must be leaving. But why do I only hear one horse? There are at least two men out there...maybe three...Curse this darkness. I guess I should try to stop him if it is not too late. I just hope that archer is not out there watching for me.

Jonal jumped up and headed in the direction that he heard the horse galloping now, knowing that at any second, the darkness would be left behind and he'd be again in the open. He had to react quickly when that happened on the event that an arrow might be looking for him if he were seen.

For Zevin, Ghar Dien and Tiva:

Against two attackers he could defend, but the third hit unexpectedly from behind, and Zevin's dagger strike severed the tendons of the left ankle. The leader of the oppositiong fell to the ground. Just at this moment, the man, who had been paralysed managed to regain control over his body and threw himself ahead of the advancing Ghar Dien. His sacrifice bought enough time for the plan, which the two twins had put into motion.

A simple look between them had been enough and one of them grabbed their leader and started half dragging, half helping him away from the battle, while the other twin, suddenly drawing a second sword became a living barrier between the attackers and his fleeing companions.

It was one of Tiva's wolves who fell first to his blades, and was followed shortly after by one of Terak's men. However he could not hold all of the attackers and when he saw that his situation was becoming hopeless, and that his twin brother had managed to get far enough with the leader he dropped his swords and put up his hands.

"I surrender...just don't kill me."

Terak immediately lunges at him, stopping his sword barely an inch ahead of the man's face.

"And exactly why should I keep you alive?"

"I may have some information to offer to you in exchange of my life. I know that you trade often in that type of merchandise Terak. Had we had our way here today it would have been us asking you for information."

Terak looked questioningly at his men and Zevin and Ghar Dien, as if in a silent way asking their opinion of the situation. At the same time, unseen to Ghar and Zevin he signalled one of his men to keep an eye on the strange woman some way off.

For Jonal and Taryness:

The darkness lifts suddenly, and in the same way as when you enter a lit chamber after having been in the dark for long, Jonal can hardly see anything. All you can do for several long seconds is just blink, while darting around fearing the arrow, which could come at any moment. You feel a hand on your shoulder and as your vision clears spot Lorax. He has a bad cut on his shoulder, but apart from that seems to be ok. Behind him the body of the swordsman, cut in half along the waist lays on the ground. The archer and the priest are nowhere to be seen.

Lorax tells you that both of them fled on the horse and he could not catch up with them.

Taryness had been preoccupied with hiding first and his own wound did not concern him. But it should have. He had lost some more blood.

OOC: Taryness has taken 4 more damage.

"Good job, Lorax. I was wondering what was taking you so long, but at least you lived. Stupid dwarf had to go and lose his cool. One thing I do not do...sell myself out to anyone I do not trust. I stand a better chance at getting my memories back with you guys than I do with them,,,so there it is.

Now where is bird-brain? I need to have a little chat with him."

Taryness:24/76 58/58

Taryness heard the traitor and the half-minatour speaking and painfully managed to yell "Your damn right we need to talk traitor!!"

Wincing in pain and cradiling his chest he tried to stand up, but unfortunantly the pain was too great and he had lost too much blood and almost began to pass out from the head spin his sudden movement had caused.

"Lorax, keep that traitor away from me, I don't feel like being stabbed in the back at the momment" but that was it, he could say no more...

He heard Taryness call out and when he saw him, he could not help but smirk.

"So...you are still alive? I thought for sure you'd be dead too...just like that loud-mouthed, rock-humping, girlfriend of a dwarf of your's.

Despite the fact that Lorax and I just save your feathers for a few more moments of painfully holding onto that joke you call a life...you dare spit at me with those words? What a lack of gratitude!

Come on, Lorax...let's leave him for his vulture cousins to come kiss that wound and hold his hand...We've got work to do.

Lorax 50/58 56/56

Lorax paused for several long seconds as he contemplated what to do. He then walked to Jonal. He spoke softly, not in a whisper, but low enough so that Taryness did not hear.

"Listen Jonal, I know you don't like him, but think a bit. He might be useful later on in case we need to send someone in to a dangerous situation."

Not waiting for Jonal's answer Lorax turned and went to inspect Taryness' wounds. It took him about a minute to prepare a bandage from Taryness' own shirt and then tie the wound with it, taking the bandage over the shoulder and then below the arm and also around the chest.

"There. That should take care of it. Don't move too much, I'm not a real healer and the protection this bandage offers is only minor, its most important role is that it stops the bleeding. About Jonal: he is not a traitor. Even I had thought that he is one, but he proved he isn't. He pretended to be going over to the enemy's side, and then used this momentary trust against them. Listen, I know you don't like him, he is an egoistical bastard, but we are in this mission with him, and it seems that we might actually be able to use him."

Taryness:24/76 58/58

"I thank you for you're help, but nothing you can say will make me trust that bastard, you may believe that he said those things to get himself out of trouble, I think that given the chance, he would prefer to side with the enemy..."

Taryness thought to himself for a while.. "Hmm, I doubt I would survive long on my own, maybe I should take this beast's advise and try and stick it out with the traitor. An alliance with Lorax may be a very smart move too.."

The pain was unbearable, but Taryness managed to stand and tell the others what he thought their next best move would be...

"Though it will not be easy, I do believe we should move from this spot and head on, after the commotion that has occurd here, it would not suprise me if backup is on it's way. Though we may have more time if all the enemies were slain.... You guys did kill them all didn't you?"

Tarynes hobled to the side of the rock so that he could lean on it and lessen the strain on his wound, all the while awaiting an answer...
