i'm partial to the .40 S&W myself,
the .50 is just friggin rediculous. you lose most of the power of a .50 round because the majority of the powder doesnt even burn till the bullet has already left the barrel. plus you cant comforably carry a .50 handgun, its just to big to be usefull. sure it sounds cool, but your never really gonna be able to use it in any realistic situation. Plus desert eagle doesnt make that great of a gun, the action is sloppy, and will really throw your aim off if you try to fire more than once in succession. if you like a bigger gun, go with a 45, probably a 1911 style i personaly prefer the polymer frame weapons, ie. glock or a S&W sigma. Sig makes a nice one too. if you want to spend the money on a really nice gun get a Kimber or an H&K those are nice guns but i personaly recomend the 40 calibur. Lots of power, and you can still pack a bunch of them in a clip. And if you get a Glock you can get a good pre-ban hi-cap clip . happy shooting

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, we need someone who is willing to be shot. Preferably multiple people. Then we can gather our weapons and have a scientific test, to be published in Soldier of Fortune magazine! So we need volunteers for the following calibers-
9mm 10mm .357 .40 .44 .45 .50 Please, its for science, name your caliber and we'll pop a few rounds in ya and check the stats with the other volunteers. STEP RIGHT UP LADIES (first) AND GENTLEMEN!

Can I take a rain check on getting shot and just walk out with my M-60 LOA? I will need a the grenade launcher attached to it also.
2 boxs of ammo, 12 cases of grenades, 2 9mms with 50 round bannana clips, 10 clamores and 1 crator bomb.. Where we going anyway? (sorry Milamber.. ..30-30 scoped out combo 9mm sides would be my first choice. )

The 9mm round doesnt have "knock down" pwer, just a lot of velocity. But ok I have my .223 Mini-14. Hmmmm actually this isnt a duel, just a call for volunteers so we can check it out! HELLO EVERYONE! You get medals if you let us shoot at you! Really!

@LoA - I'll take the .357, the .44 and if I'm still recognizable splatter me with the .50! Finish it off with a couple of 'nades from an M203 and serve me up for stuffing in the thanksgiving turkey BTW... Is it a shiny gold medal? I would suggest that if it is for fun, .50 big is fun, but for homedefense a .45 with alot of stopping power without the penetration power of the .44. The .50 is a heavy hitter but with a slightly less penetration capacity then the .44.
.45 for homedefense is better though since you don´t kill half the neighbourhood with stray bullets since they usually sticks to the target they hit...
