Now let us check the physical damage resistances... ...

Defender of Easthaven: 20%
Jan Jansen Armour: +25% = 45%
Ascension ToB Bonus: +25% = 70%

...
Hmmm... One little thing, though...
You get the Ascension's bonus very, veeery late, too late to be considered in the equation, IMO..
So we have 45% base, and 85% with Hardiness... Still quite good.

That would be wise, yes.

I assume Purifier isn't as buggy as some of the other MR items when it comes to stacking?
Yep - Purifier *adds* MR, not *sets* MR like Carsomyr.

Would be really great if I could switch from 55% to 85% MR by just switching weapons in the heat of battle, but it sounds too good to work
It isn't.

Well it's just that I could never identify myself with an evil character. I'd never be able to feel good about always choosing the "evil" replies and choices, like sacrificing the peasant or saying Quit yer whinin' stupid kid!
I just like playing the 'Cold, Calculated Power Freak' - Neutral Evil Anti Paladin/Mage.

Btw, the item is the Cloak of Balduran right?
If i'll tell you i'll have to kill you.

Two words. Improved Haste.

Quick question, just about how many of the tougher foes will lower your MR? I know the Shadow Dragon does, but haven't really encountered it anywhere else.
Weimer's Smarter Mages do it sometime. It's nice to see the enemy does that, really.

Nice indeed, but 110% Physical resist sounds even nicer. Does this mean that Physical attacks would heal you?
As far as i know, yes, but i havn't seen it in my own eyes. Will test.

Regarding the hassles of playing a level 1 Thief when you dual, this is why it is nice to postpone the reward collection until you dual.
Oh, very clever Still it'd take a good amount of quest rewards to get one up to a level where you can actually manage monsters yourself
Actually, i don't think that that trick works. Not for me, anyway. Just tried it. Dundee?

Yeah but how does a Wiz Slayer/Thief cast Improved Haste? (without using some kind of cheese of course ) Sure he can use scrolls, but those don't exactly grow on trees. And the Improved Haste on items like Ring of Gaxx never last for long.

Really? Never noticed that at all, and I've played with the annoying buggers for several months.

How ridiculously easy wouldn't that make all regular battles, if everything that Physical dmg actually healed you Definitely worth trying out.

Quest rewards may not be able to cause your second class' level to exceed the first class' level, but it will definately mean that you play as a level 10+ Thief of so. Much more managable than scampering around as a level 1 person.

If your physical resistance exceeds 100%, it will heal. Which is why enemy Monks( especially a particular improved one, *cough* *cough*) become laughably easy with a Barbarian, or any character that can boost their Crushing Damage Resistance.

As for fears of spells that lower your Magic Resistance. Three words. Boots of Preserving. I have yet to see an enemy that uses Lower Rresistance, but Pierce Magic and Pierce Shield are fairly common.
