Ive just finished SoA with a custom party, one of my chars was a barbarian and he was NOT able to wear full plate +5. Maybe it depends on patches or something (i just have SoA and ToB with the latest official patch, nothing more)

what would the best fighter party look like? I say:
Korgan(for Axe of Unyelding and Rune Hammer/ Crom Fayr) Mazzy(sword of the mask is good especially with bastard swords and occasionaly bows) Sarevok(Gram Sword and Ravager) Sola (long sword and flail of ages +5) Keldorn(purifier and Carsomyr) Me(wizard slayer with katanas/scimtars and then dual to thief at about lev 20; original, right?) 1) Sarevok - Weilding a two handed sword like a mad man
2) Korgan - Dual weilding either axes, hammers or both and he has real low AC 3) Anomen - With the Crom feayr, sturdy sheild complimented by powerful spells 4) Keldorn - With Comsayer his abils are a huge bonus to the party 5) Minsc - and Boo Powerful fighter complimented by an addictive personality Evan with this I still use Savevok, Minsc, Keldorn, Anomen Basically cos I like the apperance of them and the general apperance of Humans over the Dwarfs of BG2 and the Elves, I liked the apperance of the Dwarfs and of the Elfs in BG far better, I think the should have kept them gernerally the same but used the BG elves as Half elfs and used the Dwarfs of BG2 as Gnomes and the BG Dwarfs as Dwarfs in BG2.

Sarevock the Fighter->Mage? How about Sarevock the Fighter->Thief?

I would Dual Sarevok to Mage, myself. The advantages he'd get from Tenser's, Stoneskin, and PfMW outweigh Traps and the like--especially since 2-handed Swords can't be used with Assassination. But Greater Whirlwind with Gram during a Time Stop? Yeah, that I can see.

Unless you intend to dual late and cripple his Mage class, you are not going to get a lot of Fighter HLAs for Sarevock to use. When you meet him, he is already level 17 if not more. This is technically speaking, not the optimal time for him to dual to a Mage.
Besides... he will still have Time Stop even as a Fighter->Thief. |

Sarevok is indeed at Level 17 when you get him, with enough latent EXP to crank him up to 18 if you want it. (If you Dual before Leveling Up, that EXP simply vanishes.) But there's still time to get him a Fighter HLA or two before the Dual--although that's only IF you've got the EXP cap removed and you're playing with a party of less than 6.
A moral poser: Is it ethical to CLUA Sarevok into your SoA game, when your party is around 2.7 million EXP apiece? What about when you fight Sarevok in Hell?

? You missed my point, SixOfSpades. By dualling so late, the Mage class is limited. There is a reason why level 13 is considered the optimal level, and not any higher.
