Great thread guys. Never doubt the godlike powers of the protagonist and plotline events.
Let's not forget the two well-traveled harpers you meet up with, longtime friends of Gorion who will *protect* you, that happen to triple their level within a couple of days of knowing you. Or the fact that any wizard of Gorion's power would have contingencies in place to prevent the aforemetnioned death. [ 09-19-2003, 03:45 PM: Message edited by: Timber Loftis ] |

At least they did something veeery original to Imoen in Baldur's Gate II
Anyway; I heard a story of an IW member (might have been Lavindathar or Beaumanoir) who told us that he saw his brother playing Baldur's Gate where Gorion killed the A.F.!! The game did not leave that movie sequence of course, so he had to reset it Kinda funny though! |

Weapon Rule There's always a hidden creature who is much harder to defeat than even the ultimate bad guy's final, world-annihilating form. It's lucky for all concerned that this hidden creature prefers to stay hidden rather than trying to take over the world himself, because he'd probably win. As a corollary, whatever reward you get for killing the hidden creature is basically worthless because by the time you're powerful enough to defeat him, you don't need it any more. The Ultimate Rule Anything called "Ultima (whatever)" or "Ultimate (whatever)" isn't. There's always at least one thing somewhere in the world which is even more.

Gorion has to die for the plot to move on, but you can't kill him before it's his time, which I think is stupid. In IWD you can kill anyone, but if that person needs to live for the plot to continue, then you have to reload the game. As for Gorion committing suicide, he has to get killed by the A.F., and only the A.F., so during that battle he has to die.
Another interesting thing is that after Gorion dies, the A.F. takes more damage, but that might be from Melf's Acid Arrows... |

you guys say Gorion and A.F. do up to 200 hp damage, but all the games I played, he always does like 3- 14 hp damage per M.M. ...
pretty annoying tho, that we can't attack Sarevok at that point.. to think, as you said, Lord, what if I get my endgame character imported, couldn't I kill him Ezly?
