[/QUOTE]Just for the record, i happen to know that the shelters for abused women in my hometown are for 90% occupied by muslima's, mostly of Turkish and Moroccan origin. research learns that my hometown is not unique in this, the same applies to shelters in the rest of the country. You can either take my word for it, or keep ignoring the FACT that womenabuse is more custom in islamic cultures than any other culture. If you don't believe me, then i suggest you do some research of your own, and visit one of those shelters in your own vicinity, or talk to someone with inside knowledge.

Neb, I got my links from Google, there are any number of other sites you can look at with those search term and find identical data. You also won't find many muslim organizations taking in victims of domestic abuse, after all it's the husband/father/brother's right and duty to keep the females in line, Christian domestic violence shelters on the other hand...

Watching those videos was disgusting. They reminded me of the creeps that live around here, who, by the way, hate my ass! Don't know why, oh wait, I don't allow them to park in my parking space at work and dare to actually tell them no to their face! A woman! OMG! One guy acted like he wanted to hit me over it, and later he told me he was going to kill me (raising his fist to the sky for emphasis). There are 4 Kabob Palaces in walking distance to my office btw, so I guess that is why so many Muslim men are about. After almost 20 years of dirty looks and aggressive behavior towards me from them, mostly over MY parking space, I hate them all, I simply cannot help it anymore.

Except for the "Kabob Palaces" part, I get this exact same behaviour from most of the men around here -- but they're just 'good ol' WASP boys' in the Midwest who feel so threatened by a strong woman, they'd likely piss themselves if I ever actually raised my hand (let alone smacked them ).

So your excuse for "hating them all" is that the very, very tiny minority you've met have been unpleasant towards you? I call that shameful. "I can't help it" is no excuse. I was raised to hate them by a xenophobic family, but I still treat them all as individuals, just as I do any other nationality, religious belief or culture.

The moment you "hate them all," even if the majority really ARE bastards, you're stepping on the ones that are good, decent people. Judging them before they've even opened their mouths.

As for those shelters, johnny, consider the fact that many Western women don't need them. Not being recent immigrants and having more independent lives, they don't need abuse shelters to take them in when their spouse is beating them, they've got family they can live with, friends they can go to or maybe just plain the funds to go live on their own right off the bat. Additionally, I imagine that a lot of Western women, modern and empowered as they're supposed to be, I doubt that many of them would want to admit they're being oppressed by their husband. I also doubt that the sort of places where such things are common have many such shelters.

The alternative to those things you suggest would be to just plain interact with Muslims like ordinary human beings and learning that they span the same vast spectrum of personality and morality that any other group of people do. Oh, wait, I've been doing that for the last 21 years of my life.

My town probably has more shawarma "bars," Turk-run pizza take-out places and other ethnic restaurant than any other Danish town, but I don't see any of this behavior. I never see them threaten women in public, no one ever tells me such things happen. In fact, most of them are more friendly, polite and decent humans than the caucasians I meet on the street.

Sure, there are some Muslims who are dicks. Sure, we get the occasional honor killing. Sure, some of them are religious fanatics. But at the same time we've got Christians ranting about needing to burn homosexuals and freaks like Peter Lundin(A caucasian Atheist!) who killed his wife and two(Or was it three?) defenseless children. The only reason Muslims seem worse is because they get more screen-time and because the current wave of terrorists are mostly Muslim.

No,i've never seen them treat their women badly in public either, except for this one time in my appartment building, and i punched his lights out for it, which btw i'll never do again, because the wife suddenly turned against me. A thank you would have been nicer. But the fact remains that they do treat their women as inferior human beings, and occasionally slapping them around for a bit is completely integrated into their way of life. They don't even try to deny it. I've heard of several occasions here where Dutch women got into an argument with muslim males over a parkingspot, just like LadyZ was telling about, and they ended up with a busted lip, a bloody nose, or a black eye. They are simply not used to mouthy females, theirs are like slaves and wouldn't dare to oppose any of their decisions, while ours have a mind of their own and are not afraid to show the world. If they want to live a happy and peaceful life here in this society, they better turn that attitude around and step in the 21st century, otherwise the hammer will come down on them sooner or later.

You appear awfully defensive when it comes to muslims, i wonder why that is ? You do realize that should you be traveling through any given country in the middle east, and you'd make it clear that you're a Dane, the lynchingmobs would be crawling from under hundreds of rocks just to get a piece of you don't you ?
