I accidently discovered a VERY nice, and for those who might complain, legal way of destroying the lich in Ust Natha. This method will not only destroy him, but will cost you NO spells, healers, and will cost you absolutely NO hit point damage. Noice isn't it. Firstly, arm everyone except your best swordsman, with arrows, slings whatever. Give your swordsman boots of speed and any potions to help their attack ratio, then enter the house. Immediately upon entering hit pause, have your archers and slingers attack, then send in your swordsman. You'll deal out some nice damage before the option bars all disappear and you go into the teleport sequence and speak to the guy in the fancy room. The cool part is that if you send in your main character to hack him, your character CONTINUES to hit the lich while he's walking around. With enough damage and fast enough hitting the lich is dead before you get teleported. When you re-enter the house the lich is dead and the deed is done.

The six armed things are Miriliths. They are a class of demon known as a Tanari'i. A true Taneri'i being a major one like Baalors and maybe glabrezu.

Another Lich killing tactic is the Improved Mace of Disruption. Simply put, it'll kill liches in one hit, and only prot. from magical weapons will affect it, because it counts as a +5 weapon against undead (well, Absolute Immunity would block it, but i can't think of any liches that cast that). Also, liches seem to save rather badly, so yeah you've got a good shot of killing one straight up.

Of course, as someone already mentioned, a high level cleric works wonders...by the time you hit TOB and get through watcher's keep, you'll have a level 25+ cleric running around, and turn undead will kill a lich straight out at that level.

Yep, i remember ol Kangaxx went down one hit from that mace... same for Bodhis crew. A high level fighter/paladin with that is awesome vs. Undead.

Your method is completely legal. It's not cheddar-like at any rate. Daystar is supposed to be used by your heroes. Traps are supposed to catch your enemies. What's wrong?
What you say is the definition of cheese. Using a weapon before the lich has time to even stand up straight and then he walks over traps you laid there, but WHY did you lay those traps there in the first place? Because you knew he was going to spawn there/walk by there. And in the case of Kangaxx, you didnt even knew he was evil until he started attacking you.

ITs all a matter of style; if he/she wants to act 'chessy' it s up to them. I for one prefer arrogence. Lol; facing a dragon in single cvombat And winning, is pretty arrogent, wouldnt you say?

Ow, dont get me wrong, I have nothing against cheesy tactix, I have used them myself as well. But its just that in my topic "Whore-ish ways to kill liches" I expressed my irritation of the fact that cheesies are sometimes required to beat an adversary as deadly as the lich/demi-lich. I dont think that adds to my role-playing experience. And dragons aren't all that bad, in fact, they're mediocre compared to Kangaxx.

And yes, arrogance gives a great feeling doesnt it

Then, Zuvio, the whole BG2 is cheesy from beginning to end. How are you selecting spells for memorizing before resting? Are you using dices for it? Naturally, you don't know what monster are waiting for you.
You know, Zuvio, there is a big difference between cheesy behaviour and using knowledge. Knowledbe is not cheesy. A cheesy behaviour consists in taking advantage from evident bugs and misunderstandings in the game. Examples:
A ranger/cleric dual class: using druid spells is a bit cheesy. If you don't want to do such things then command yourself to forget Wondrous Recall, Insect Plague and another non cleric spells. Use only those druid spells that can be used by the ranger part of the ranger/cleric.
A kensai/mage hurling axes. A kensai is supposed not to use ranged weapons. All ranged weapons are forbidden to him but the authors overlooked that axes can be ranged weapons, too. Non cheesy behaviour = not using throwing axes by a kensai.
A "fake talk" method of fighting dragons. It takes advantage from the fact that every turn lasts 6 seconds. Similarly, the "feeblemind" method is based on the bug that a dragon does not react on casting Feeblemind on it.
Reequipping Staff of Magi, and so on.
All these examples are examples of cheddar-like behaviour. On the other hand, laying traps is not cheddar like. Striking a lich by Daystar is not cheesy. BTW, how are you using traps if you do not know where the monster will go?
