Also, if ISPs COULD charge only people who use filesharing then they'd still have to have some way of working out which people are sharing legit files, shareware, stuff they made, freeware etc. and which people are sharing copywrite material. The way mentioned just hits everyone the same.

I don't think anything particular needs to be done actually. Why? Because the ADSL ISPs are on their way to solving this already. The way I see it, it is only a matter of time before ADSL ISPs begin to charge per MegaByte instead of per month. This seems completely fair because the contention ratio effects everyone and people creating more traffic by filesharing etc. use more of the ISP's bandwidth than others in the area who only check email and play games.
So when charging per Megabyte sets in, filesharing will slump like crazy. Those that do not fileshare will probably save money. So it's a win all round, except for the filesharers

im demonising the part of the industry that matters, im not talking about you or people who work in a music store they arent important in the argument except that they lose out because of what the record labels do, its the people who make things happen that have wrecked the industry and are now making problems for you and thats the people to whom im referring, im certainly not referring to people who work in a music store, if you cant see that then your not reading properly. As usual its the small percentage at the top who wreck things for the other 90 percent of the industry and its them i have a problem with, and it is their greed that has caused way more problems than kazaa ever will.

or are you saying thats not the case? because so far after repeated coverage of this subject in england every expert would agree with my opinion, many of my points are indeed based on what has been said recently, i have no active experience, but i do know what i have seen and heard and i do know when i buy an album this year compared to one 10 years ago i get far less quality than i used to.
Yes, I'm saying that's not the case. I'm saying the music industry isn't all about money and doesn't only has itself to blame for all the problems and don't just make fillers...

The reason I've reacted is beacuse you can read my previous post and reply with

To me this still displays insensitivity to something I've been dealing with and battling for more than 1/2 my life.

As Yorick has stated in previous threads, one of the "Evil Record Companies" also provided the funding for us to record an album of music that was from our souls, not some manufactured crap.
The reasons for the current issues are complicated and include elements of what you have said. But regardless of how you view your own file sharing, there are many, many people who are blatant thieves and are also a huge part of the problem.

As also stated in previous threads, blank tapes have a tax on them that gets distributed to artists, hence the complacency of record companies to act against it.

I'll say more but in the form of a pm.
