I checked the URL in the screenshot, it says it's been taken down, which likely means the machine has been sold.

It's kind of amusing reading the reactions to this, and I think it's good to point out that the kid is not entitled to anything above and beyond that which his parents choose to give him, certainly not a $300+ video game console, and if his behavior has warranted it (which in this case it apparently has) he's earned Coal, that ancient threat of parents for generations that I think very few have actually followed through with. I say good job to the parents this time around for sticking to their guns no matter how terrible the reaction may be, the kid sounds like he needs a lesson on how reality works anyway.

My $.02.... The parents are being malicious and spiteful. Not about selling the XBox to someone else because of the kid's behavior.... that I can understand. But deliberately trying to build up his expectations just so you can smash them down on Christmas morning? That's spiteful and cruel, and I wouldn't be surprised if the kid did go medieval like Johnny suggested... and in that case, the parents would have asked for it.

Too bad the parents can't act like adults. Forget the coal... a simple card saying that he would have gotten an Xbox, but because of his behavior, they've sold it... that would suffice. Now the kid's going to be searching for what he can do to get even.

Bad kid. Bad parents.

Too bad it's not still up for sale since it was right in my neck of the woods...

I agree with Bungleau on this one. Kids tend to take after their parents, and this dad sounds like a big baby himself.

Personally I'd take the XBOX and the child down to the local incenerator and make the child watch while I sent it through.

Children (and adults too) need to understand that Christmas, while it's now so commercialized and twisted, is a priviledge not a right. There are kids all over the world that have nothing on Christmas morning, and that includes a family.

Maybe his parents should send him a plane ticket to New Orleans for the holidays.

So he can get drunk and go party with lesbians and gangsters? I think a trip to Sierra Leone is what you should be aiming for.

We don't want to kill the kid, just teach him a lesson.

You know, I would have come up with a better punishment:

Pull out the X-Box in front of the kid then pour it full with lighterfluid and set fire to the shit. and after that I would piss on it and watch the kid weep.. Haha!! I know, I'm EVIL
