Yes Yes Yes The graphics are a bit dated and the fighting sequences look a bit... well... *you slash, me slash, wait 15 seconds, you slash* etc.. Bit slow But still ace!

Question Mark

The game is ancient as far as software goes.
If you are running WinXP I doubt you could even get it to play. You will need WinME or older. Also, as with other ancient games, if it does load and attempt to run on WinXP one of two problems are left:
1. Your sound may work
2. Your graphics may work.
Up to WinME, it was just a shell (GUI) (Graphical User Interface) it used parts of that old thing i learned on DOS, to interface within the hardware of the system.
WinXP is purely DOS free once booted, therefore causing ancient software to be just that, obsolete.

On the other hand, it WAS an excellent RPG.

It's definitely worth it, though I'd read some reviews to see if it's something to your liking before buying anything others recommend.

The first BG was really good, but if you have played BGII, you will have to get used to not finding a large amount of magical items wherever you go. I think the highest enchanted magic weapon in the game is +3, but to make up for being so powerful, your character may go berserk while in battle. The best one I used was a +1 (or +2, I can't remember.) longsword that added a point of cold damage when it hit. Also, magic over level 3 was very hard for me to get a mage high enough level to cast. It is still a great game, though.
