I might have gotten the names mixed up, and if so, apologies to D.Gaider. However, the footnotes in the Fixpack indicate that most of the fixes were done with consultation with the actual gamemakers.
The Fixpacks were made to fix oversights made by the Patch. The ToB Patch incorporated a lot of the fixes made by the SoA Fixpack. As for engine limitations. It is still considered cheese, just not very honourable ones... ... A prime example would be fake-talk. There were solutions to the problem, but for the better part, fake talking still exists. It is illogical. It defies common sense, but it is not really considered cheating or a bug, but cheesing. Cheesing is the exploitation of loopholes in the game. Exploiting a fixable bug will be cheating. |

It's interesting to me that the summons cheese seems to be of greatest use to the soloist. Any balanced party doesn't really need more than say four mordys/skeles and one Planetar for any given battle.
I know I've been guilty of using the Wand of Summons to keep plopping wolves or ogres in front of my enemies as needed. It just gets to be no fun at all after a while. I remember the first time I killed Drizzt in BG1 using the Wand of Summons and missile weapons tactic/cheese. Afterwards it was very anticlimactic, with about twenty summoned Gnolls wandering around like a bunch of cattle... That being said, I was ROFL when I saw the photos from SixOfSpades (I think... apologies if I'm wrong) taking on Irenicus with about 50 skeleton warriors. Still, I haven't used the multiple-multiple summons tactic/cheese very much. Maybe I'll change my mind when/if I solo a Sorcerer...

Apologies to Dundee... That was one of the best series of screenshots I've seen.

For a while, it was my desktop wallpaper. I found it far more representative of the game than what BioWare gave me.
