Good to hear that you guys are standing up for my small friends. Thanks, and keep up the good work. After I had finished the game a couple of times I rounded up all the so called weaker NPCs and worked out how to get the best out of them - and so Midget Gems was born. They turned out to be great adventurers with great personalities. Hi-ho Hi-ho
Yeh, I have pretty much gone through the game with parties which were quite typical, you know, Human-Fighter, Imoen-thief, Elf-Ranger, Cleric, and a mage or two.

And since there are so many variables and options with regards to NPCs, I figure I ought to experiment and have some fun with the "atypical" Characters/NPCs.

I mean some of the dialogues between the opposite-aligned NPCs are simply hilarious!

Like you said Midget, "They turned out to be great adventurers...", my little Hafling fighter (named 'Rusty SharpWit') is doing farely well (18/42,16,17,8,7,16), in-fact he's holding his own.

Umm, this is sort of off topic, but I took my party, dubed, "Rusty's Motley Crew of Inept Mauraders", and stripped them naked at the entrace of Feldepost's Inn and sent them in for a few beers.

Knowing that Marl and his buddy would start some trouble, we went on in so as to do some "old fashion boxin", and holly crap! That fella can really 'lay-the-SMACK-DOWN'!

He had my whole party laying around him on the floor, unconscious, and as soon as someone would wake-up, he would knock their lights out again.

This was probably the longest fight I have ever been in, as it seemed that only about one out of four of my guys would actually get a lick in on him, and it was usually for only 3 or 4 damage points.

About 6 or 7 hours later, he (Marl) finally dropped to the ground, and we could run like cowards off to another Inn and rest.

Has anyone else tried this? And did you have as much trouble with this guy as I did?

Silence, racist! And you leave those rotten, self-important, leaf-eating, look-at-me-nancy-about-on-top-of-the-snow Elves out of it! (Cookie if you know the reference.) Tallfolk have no place among the wee ones!

Ah! Well, to be really nasty, you could make your party fight using scripts *only*. Use really bad scripts that make them no smarter than your enemies. Let *them* perform all combat. Micromanage nothing, save things your scripts don't do.

If not that, you could try running your mages/clerics using only Save-or-Else spells. In my experience, relying excusively on Save-or-Else can be downright debilitating compared to the cushy life of elder mages with scads of MM's.
Hmm, I never really knew what that 'script option' was all about.

I'll have to try that some other time, say, wouldn't that get a little boring after awhile? Or is it pretty challenging?

Using "Save-or-Else" spells might be a bit too detailed for me to worry about.

However, I could be a 'realist' every time I find or buy a new spell scroll, by NOT pre-saving before I my mage or bard tries to 'learn' it to his/her's spell book.

Also, I could (some how) randomly choose the spells that I want my Casters to memorize, instead of the typical, seven MMs, four Flame-arrows, three Fireballs, four Melf's, five Cure Light Wounds, etc, etc.

This way I would force myself to explore more - 'creative solutions' during battle.

Well, say no more: You want Skie! That, of course, implies Eldoth. Garrick's just as fantastic as Eldoth, though less misfit-y. (G's friendly. E's a scumbag.) Shar-Teel, Quayle, Tiax, and Xan also seem like misfits, though Shar is perhaps the most capable among them. And even then, Xan's not holpless; he just doesn't have MM, Chro Orb, FBall, or Cloudkill. Faldorn's not just a misfit, that gal's completely counter-culture. Eco-Terrorist would be the modern term, I think. Hm, that's definitely a good twist on using her.

Dammit. Now I want to be an Eco-Terrorist druid. Grr, must finish current parties first...
I've never had Eldoth in my party, and the one-time that I gave the 'nod' to Garrick, I was runnin a 'Power-Party', so for obvious reasons, he got kicked to the curb. I'll probably pick him up this time though (he seemed pretty weak ).

It might be kind of interesting to see what happens if Ajantis and Safana are in the same group.

Let's see...

Safana, "Hey there cutie-pie, I think I need a little 'Laying on of the Hands' if you know what I mean."

Ajantis, *mumbles* "hummina-hummina-hummina" "HELM, give me STRENGTH!"

As far as Eco-Terrorists go, I'm not particularly fond of them (read sig).

So the one-time that I had Jaheira, I think I stripped her nude and sent her on a little 'suicide misson'.

I just couldn't bare listening to her silly rants about 'Mother-Earth'.

I'll most likely give Faldorn a chance, however, only to see how annoying her dialoges are.
