* * * * * * The Daedra Boethiah himself. There's a submerged ruin just of the coast northwest of Hla Oad. Dive down there, find the broken statue and talk to the head.

Well, in just under a month of pretty intense gaming, my level 66 Khajiit Monk completed the main quests of the whole trinity itself - Morrowind-Tribunal-Bloodmoon. Just thought I'd report some reflections.
I achieved Archmage, Guildmaster of the Fighter's guild, Grandmaster of the Morag Tong and Patriarch of the Temple. On philosophical grounds, I decided to avoid joining both the Imperial Legion and Imperial cult and decided against disturbing what my character perceived as a 'cosmic balance' by doing any of the Daedric shrine quests. I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay itself which I think is the key to its addictiveness. I experienced a sort of enthusiastic romanticism about exploring in this game, particularly in the early stages of level 1-30. This was reminiscent for me of the late period Might and Magics. But after the early stages, I became alot more quest-focused and consequently moved through the game more quickly. My main criticisms of Morrowind would be its lacklustre dungeon design (most are too similar), unpredictable behaviour,( bugs, freezes, CTDs) and a general static feeling in the game world which made it seem like the only thing changing, was my character. Hard to describe this sensation properly, but often I felt as if I were playing a first person shooter rather than an rpg. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. I wonder also if at high levels, class distinctions are somewhat blurred since one can train in all skills providing one has the septims to do so. The final quests to retrieve the dwemer artifacts (sunder and keening) I felt were much too short and my defeat of Dagoth Ur seemed very minor and almost anti-climactic. I could say the same thing for both Tribunal and Bloodmoon - both featured main quests which I felt ended much too soon, leaving far too many inconsequential seeming quests. It is difficult to remain motivated to play more to be honest, but I might finish off at Thirsk and experiment a little more. Otherwise, this is the end to yet another cRPGaming chapter for me. Cheers, CerebroDragon P.S: Going oldschool next though still in the first person tradition - time for some Swords of Xeen on my trusty Dx4-100! ![]() [ 04-17-2005, 08:25 AM: Message edited by: CerebroDragon ]

You're finshed already?
![]() I bought this game about two years ago but haven't started playing it seriously until a month ago. I'm still at the early stages of the game, despite being level 19, and having a blast exploring and doing various quests. My Dunmer is a member of the Fighters guild, Thieves Guild, Mage Guild, Blades and Imperial Cult at the moment and planning to fulfill those duties. At some point in the future I'm planning to have my character geting more interrested in his cultural heritage and have him join the Temple and House Redoran, the most honourable house in my opinion. I probably wont join the Imperial Legion or the Morag Tong. IL is too Imperial and MT will probably require me to assassinate poeple I know. I don't know if I will do the Daedra shrine quests yet. Daedra are bad blood, in my opinion, nonetheless I finished Boethias quest to get the Goldbrand. Sweet sword.
