Sorry can't find it. It was a MacLean's piece on how one doctor in a hospital in a rural area managed to reduce staff time, and patient lineups, and waiting by using newer tools to send and receive data from test that can only be analyzed in another hospital somewhere else in the country. Thus reducing the time to diagnose and treat patients from months to hours, thus speeding up the time patients need to wait for treatments and allowing doctors to free up more of there time.

Interesting stuff...it has always been a curiosity to me since I started working for this company, why so many Canadians. On the other side we don't seem to have a whole lot of Mexicans. |

It could also be that they live and work there MagiK? There are over a million Canadians who live and work in the States and i'm sure they have to procure proper coverage in your neck of the woods.

There's some things that need to be improved, specifically wait times for surgeries and diagnostics (MRIs come to mind). It's possibly quicker (but much more expensive to the individual) to get it done in the States. Canadians are also more likely than Mexicans to be able to afford it.
I'm pretty sure that there's more than 1 million Canadians living and working in the States. I've heard that the 4th largest "Canadian" city (in terms of sheer numbers) is L.A. The twin lure of California beaches and Hollywood is just too strong...

Nope, didn't see that movie - along with hundreds of others that somehow haven't fit into my schedule yet.
'Tis true, L.A. *is* part of the Mexican heartland, but there's plenty of Canucks who hold clandestine meetings to drink real beer and say "eh".
