It wouldn't do you any good anyway. I tried fighting Arkansis once, even with Magic Protection from the sword, he has Infinite hit points.

He's not protected from attribute kill, though...

Which is why you circumvent that need to hit by casting Protection from Magical Weapons, then Improved Haste, then Time Stop, then Shapechange. It will last long enough to drain... oh... maybe 16 or so INT? I dunno, having never actually used Shapechange.

Time Stop makes all hits by the mage ignore AC [img]smile.gif[/img]

Edit: It drains 5 INT per hit (I think), so you should be able to do it in 1 time stop. If not, just cast another one [img]smile.gif[/img]

Isn't that the sword used by the Shadowthieves leader's body guard, who only appears if you take hostile action? I've tried killing the Leader, but this person to whom I am refering comes out of nowhere and slaughters me, with little to no effort.

That's how mindflayers ice you. They drain your intelligence attribute. It hits 0 and you die.

Personally I found it amusing how people always tend to think in terms of singular spells when in reality, it is the combination of several spells that make arcane spellcasters so deadly in this game.

Well... high-level arcane spellcasters that is.

Anyway... assuming you have a Sorcerer and you have a party small enough for him/her to reach level 20+ at that stage in the game... here is how you do it to kill Arkanis Gath the Cheesy.

Drink an Oil of Speed.
Trigger his appearance.
Cast PfMagical Weapons.
Cast Time Stop.
Cast Shapeshift:Mind Flayer.
Suck him to death.

For those who wish to steal Renal Bloodscalp's Boots of Speed without triggering Arkanis Gath's appearance... I leave that up to SixOfSpades to tell, or Alson, or Jim, if any of them happens to read this.

Hey Dundee, I can't remember which mod it was, but is it the Ease-Of-Use that disables Gath's appearance?
