Sarevok vs Minsc

You would not want a fistfight between Sarevock and Minsc. No seriously. Every now and then, Sarevock would inflict Deathassualt on Minsc from a punch.

What I find amusing that people here are giving Minsc all the advantages assuming Sarevock would just sit there and do nothing. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

What's to prevent Sarevock from Smiting Minsc as well?

What's to prevent Sarevock from using Firetooth +5 as well?

Remember, he has free proficiencies in Crossbow as well.

GWW's Improved Haste is a modified version, and will not be overrided by the RoFA.

Assuming you did not take the evil path with Minsc, Sarevock can use Blackmist to blind Minsc too... then it's just a matter of hitting Minsc from afar.

Sarevock has more HP than Minsc as well. Blow for blow, with weapons of equal stature, Sarevock will triumph. Armour of Faith or not( remember, Deathassualt and the fact that Sarevock can get more ApR).

Sarevock can get more HLAs.

He does not start out with any ranged weaponry proficiencies (IIRC). He also doesn't exact have an unlimited amount of them to spare.

You know that Blackmist's Blindness is a special ability, and allows for a save without any penalty? Seriously, in ToB, Minsc really doesn't have a save versus spells of 2 or more.

Of course, I'm assuming no mods. Therefore, Minsc will have the exact same number of ApR as Sarevok. Death Assault? Hindo's Doom. While it is true that Sarevok can indeed backstab, how is he going to be invisible? Are Potions now allowed? It is very hard to Hide in Shadows if the opponent can see you.

He really doesn't have that much more HP. 18 CON versus 16 CON. Really, that isn't that much. Armor of Faith easily makes up the difference.

Of course, I'm replying assuming some things:

You're allowed only equipment which may be equipped on the character himself, no including quick slots.

You start out on a small-sized arena to prevent the other person from running like a chicken. You also start in view of each other in order to prevent those stupid traps of cheese...

Both players have no mods.

Both shall wield a non-enchanted Two-Handed Sword. Sarevock is natually 5*, while Minsc is 2*.

Duke it out and see who lives.

IMO it is useless to give ANY of these ENCHANCED weapons to ANY one of the two, what the other can wield the other can too.

So, put minsc with his 2 star "Hindos Doom", against Sarevok with his 5 star "Hindos Doom".
Who wins?
Sarevok would be my guess.
(Hindos is a katana, right? So no one has an advantage to it without training, so well just max things out to see what happens).

It is just as fair if you let Minsc dual wield. Let Minsc dual wield battle axes and Sarevok go 2 handed. Then don't forget Minsc can cast the doom spell on Sarevok (lowers thaco by 2 each time). He also can Bezerk 1 fight a day.

By the time Minsc finish casting all those spells... HE BE DEAD.

Casting times are like 2 seconds, so it hardly takes any time to stop mid fight BRIEFLY and cast them. He certainly wont be interrupted if you time it right. On damage output I have always found dual wield superior to 2 handed weapons, however the biggest advantage is the fact you can get so many bonuses from using 2 weapons. I mean if Sarevok uses the silver sword he gets an instant death chance, if Minsc uses the Axe of Unyielding and Crom Fayer/Celestial Fury/Flail of Ages he is gonna destroy Sarevok (unless he gets in a lucky deathbringer assult). He gets an instant death chance + 25 strength/+ chance of instant stun and ligtning damage/+ chance of slow and the big elemental damage of FoA.

So give copies of all those weapons to Sarevok too and see who wins...

This is such a retarded arguement

Given the right equipment or counter equipment, either player could win.

However, Sarevok will *always* have the advantage because of his higher strength, or his deathbringer assault or his ability to have grand mastery in a weapon.

So there
