I see where you are coming from, and while I do believe it's logical, I don't believe it's morally right. Crimes in the eyes of humanity are still crimes, no matter how the leader may choose to justify them. There is a difference between trying someone and putting them to death and simply ordering your troops to wipe out a village. The Texas analogy brings this to light every bit as much as what happened with Saddam. Kansas also has the death penalty, or we did, the last time I was aware. However, the police don't simply go to a suspects house and execute them w/out a trial. There is a difference between being judge, jury and executioner, and letting the system dispense justice, if it can be called that.

I really doubt Bob Barker was actually serious. Probably more like getting a phone, hearing request, calling someone and passing it on with a "recomendation" that he knows will never be granted. The man isnt stupid, he knows it will never come to fruition. Likely he is just humouring her.
