Kagain is really getting tired of using his quarterstaff +1. It's so wussy . I haven't even found an axe+1, let alone something a little special! Does anyone know where I can get myself a good axe? Thunderhammer Smithy doesn't even sell an axe+1!
Thanks

Hey Mel, great to see you again darling
Well, there's a halberd +1 in the map west of Nashkel - it's in a cave. There's a battle axe +1 on sale in Feldepost's inn in Beregost. You'll get a battle axe +2 if you kill Gretek in the Helm and Cloak inn in Baldur's Gate. I'm fairly sure there's another one in a battle in Chapter Six - the Candlekeep Ruins. You can't avoid the guys who have the weapon, so that one's a definite. I'm half certain that there's another magical axe to be had if you kill the leaders of the Iron Throne on the top floor of their building in the harbour section of Baldur's Gate. Think that's about it

If you want locations for axes, check out this page. In particular, I love the Throwing Axe +2 (Yay, no more ammo! ) and Bala's Axe (Yay! A mini Wizard Slayer! )

Thanks guys . Though halberds aren't axes, Alex, they're polearms . I bought the one at Feldepost's because I think we're not quite ready to tackle the battle at the helm and cloak yet, and certainly not Durlag's tower. Haven't even installed TOTSC either! I should do that...

Arledrian was spot-on with his locations, except that the weapon in the Iron Throne building is another Halberd (with a neat description), and I wouldn't descripe the cave as being "west of Nashkel" so much as "just east of the Gnoll Stronghold."
I've experimented with Bala's Axe, and maybe it's just me, but I never got that damn thing to work right. No Miscast Magic, no Dispel Magic--just another Axe+1. Oh, well.

I believe it's bugged...I can't remember if I used Baldurdash or Dudleyfix to fix the problem. Either way, I can use it, and Kagain's a menace because of it.
