Where is the ebon gem?

Hi. I think it's in Marten's Bluff but I'm almost done there and haven't found it. I REALLY want Antone to make the Ebon Staff but I need the gem. Where is it? Thanks.

If you have found Marten's Diary, then you missed the ebon gem next to it. If you haven't found his diary yet, it's down by Sadok (the T'Rang merchant) behind the picture of Marten. If you haven't found Sadok yet, he's behind the door that does damage to your characters unless you use a certain 3-fingered item you are carrying to open it.

P.S. The item I'm referring to was something you found in Upper Marten's Bluff near the dead T'Rang.

IIRC it's in the bedroom where you find Marten's diary which you need to find in order to complete the Idol quest ... it's in the room at the extreme west of the Lower Bluff, the area where you need the XXXX to get to.
