Did God create us? or did we evolve from single celled organisms?

I said some other way. I believe in evolution -- I even believe all the elements on the planet came from a select few that were steeped in plasma and electrical storms for eons. But, I didn't say "Darwin" because he certainly believed in God, and believed in a certain imposed "order" on the system, which we now know to be quite random.

HEHEHEHEHEHE... Made big mistake in the poll.... Where it says "natures way" it should have said "by god" or something... DOH!!!

Well, I said other way. My personal view? Humans have been humans always. Until someone can prove otherwise, say in a concrete example of speciation occuring in our current time, that's how I'm sticking. Also, the idea of evolution (at least in my opinion) has so many variables that it could only occur if there were an outside sentient force to guide the process.
P.S. as far as Darwin's theory of evolution? Scientists have already scrapped that one. They made a new one and still call it evolution but the definition of the theory is slightly different. Besides, he renounced his theory on his deathbed IIRC.

I don't think evolution and religion are necessarily at odds here. There seems reasonable proof that humans did evolve at least a certain amount, be it all the way from pond scum (big change here??) or just from primitive man. But why could a god not have initiated and directed such an evolution? I can't imagine Adam and Eve as Cromagnons, so I see the whole garden of Eden thing as more along the lines of a parable - much of the Bible is done this way. After all, explaining evolution to people 2,000+ years ago simply would not have worked. So my vote is both religion and evolution.

Well I tend to agree with the Evolutionary Theory more than the religious one because of me being an atheist,it just makes more sense to me.

E.g. the average height has increased 20 cm during the last 50 years (anyway in the western countries) and the average iq has increased quite a lot during the same period of time (cant remember how much).

Zaros, when I think of evolution I think of the process scientist usually describe as speciation. The changing of one species into a different species. True, minor physical changes even some major ones have occurred but the scientists have yet to declare a new species due to such changes.
