No argument about it, Kegain has to have the Gauntlets of Dexterity otherwise he's history. But Six, is being a decoy all that bad? I figure his job in life is to be Shar-Teel's minder. She has got to be the best attacking sword-fighter but she needs Kegain to keep her alive. I played these too up front and Shar-teel out-scored Kegain 2 to 1, but that was still far less kills than the archers sitting in behind them, who accounted for more than 50% of the bad guys. There's always room in my party for a good front line blocker and Kegain's the man.
You have to agree that all the NPCs have weaknesses, part of the fun is to blend them together into a team. :cool;

Ive Never Tried Being Evil, Things Cost Too Much In The Shops. Kagain Is Actually Ok If You Equip Him Right (And If You Can Find Him!) But Montaron... Hmmm... No, I Could Never Picture Him Being In My Final Party.
1.Me (Cleric) 2.Ajantis 3.Khalid 4.Dynheir 5.Minsc 6.Coran

As far as Kagain goes, I find it's too easy to just play a Dwarven Tank myself. The Book of CON is easy to get if you have Montaron and know what you're doing, so I can usually get myself to 20 CON before I even Level Up! I suppose doing a Kagain / Shar-Teel combo would work, but....you can only give the Boots of Speed to one of them. Come to think of it, Kagain's not that bad.....I find that Tankitude is determined more by AC and CON than THAC0, because like you said, it's the archers in back that account for all the kills. So using Kagain up front is pretty much the same as using a Cleric--except you can't give the Gauntlets to Edwin, which means you're better off with Xzar.
Beaumanoir: I don't think I can trust a fellow gamer who chooses Khalid over Montaron (not to mention Imoen).

quote: Well I did for my good party I couldnt stand Montaron and Xzar complaining. And if you equip Khalid right he is really good. Magic weapons and armor help him alot.

Khalid is decent. my paladin outscored him in kills by more then hundred (and I go up close with both of them) actually in my paladin game he and the support fighter (that would be either minsc or khalid depending on it being BgI or BgII) do about 70 % of the party kills.

My evil char, Queen Emadore (Skie) was evil, and she and her party was huntes by Flaming Fist all the time.
Prices where high as well. Had to sell her Ring of Wizardry =( Before I found out I could STEAL the items. Anyways, if being evil, I don't suggest you kill peasants. To get your rep down accept Viconia in your group. It goes down with 2 then. And if you don't want her, just kill her. Specially if you'e an arachnophobic...

Katherine........evil parties rule........who cares if the game is designed for do gooders.
One question for u though.......what is your main character (class) and who do u prefer magically xzar or edwin? Neutral charcters are basically both good and evil and wont complain unless u are super heroic or super evil. Keep questing nightshift |
