I always believed that elves can become ranger/clerics but i was wrong! (only half-breeds can)

no doubt! how come paladins can only be humans as well? i read some old D&D books, but they didn't specify a reason.

Play 3rd edition

It is my belief that in AD&D pnp the rules are meant to be bent and in some cases altogether broken. I had a friend who let his brothers Paladin be of the evil alignment. I believe he called it a Dark Paladin. I guess if he serves and evil deity then it's not exactly impossible.

Yes it is. I always wanted to have elf ranger/cleric, because that is the best class (as Xen told me).

Bioware mde some stupid things. Aerie is an Elf and she is a M/C. If you want to have PC M/C you can only be Half-Elf but not Elf...

Wow, The Offspring of Edwin and Viconia, wow...Anyways, back on topic, it enrages me so how dwarves have such little to choose from, classwise...Is there a mod out there that applies 3rd edition rules to BG2?
