Spoiler
- - - - - - - - - I have completed the Illithid section of the Underdark up until the Master Brain (or whatever it is called room). I have beaten everyone in the room except for the Brain Golems. They seem to be immune to everything. Anyone have an idea on what they are not resistant to? Thanks |

I think every +2 Weapon should be able to kill them. They have some resistances against slashing and piercing weapons but none vs. blunt weapons.

IIRC, they die when you kill the elder brain.

quote: They don't die when you kill the elder brain. You had to use blunt weapons - Flail of Ages works well.

deisel44, the best way to defeat the room with the master brain is to use one of those purple mind control crowns on the master brain. Sometimes, some of the illithid will actually turn on the master brain!!! It's SOOOO much easier to kill the master brain this way. Also, the brain golems will not spawn, so beating them isn't an issue.

Magness--
that's really interesting! i never thought of trying that...i usually had one or two of those control circlets left over, but i always just used it on a mind flayer/illithid as opposed to the actual master brain. this time around, i'm going to go with that idea.

When i faced the brain golems, only 2 weapons i had could hurt them. The Staff of Rynn +4, and Flail of Ages +3. They always went after Aerie though..must be because she's sooooo good
