I haven't read it myself, but I heard his "The DemonWars Saga" is better than his Forgotten Realm stuff, being set in his own private fantasy world and having complete creative control over it. It's two trilogies bridged by a single book.

The Dragon Reborn - 3rd Wheel of Time. Pretty good thus far.

Picked up a new MYTH novel last week from Robert Asprin and Jodi Lynn Nye... Class Dis-Mythed. For those who appreciate being thrust into a situation where people think you know more than you really do, the Myth books are fun reading... even with the puns and silly introductory quotes.

This one merged typical Myth activity with reality TV... quite interestingly, I might add. Looks like Lady Z's not the only one watching the Reality shows...

I'm up to number 10: Sweet Myth-tery of Life. It ended pretty much on a cliffhanger and I finally just got the next one.

So how are the co-authored ones? I'm pretty close to starting them, do they compare to the original ones?

They're pretty good. Jodi Lynn Nye has the attitude and perspective down well... she's also written a couple of them from different perspectives, like one entirely by Aahz.

A new set of books now... I'm into biographies. First recent one... Gene Simmons, from KISS... KISS and Makeup. Interesting perspective... some good lessons in there, once you get past the apparent reality that rockers are in it for the girls It's about having a vision of what could be and then focusing on achieving that vision.

Second one... Ernie Harwell: 60 Years in Baseball. The long-time voice of the Detroit Tigers on the radio and occasionally TV, he's a man who truly loved what he did (and still loves it). Still working on this one, but I continue to find it enlightening... about making decisions for the right reasons and living a life that none can find fault with. A tricky part, that last one. I was also amazed to find out how much of an entrepreneur he was....

After that, I've got a bio from the founder of Starbucks brewing in the background. Once the ideas from the others have percolated in my brain a bit, I'll perk up with that one for a while.

Okay, that's all for now. I may have to throw a Captain Underpants book in there, just for good measure, so stay tuned.

Have you read "Mastes of Doom" about Carmak and Romero founding id. It's a really good biography. It's interesting how there friendship was basically destroyed because of greed.

I haven't read that. Thanks for the tip! I've requested our library to find it and bring it to a branch near me.

Lovely thing, that library... I have access to something like 40 or 50 different branches here, and can ask them to bring anything to a branch near me. Then they'll email me when it's ready, and I can pick it up

Right now I'm reading the Dune series, I read "Dune" a long time ago but I didn't kno there were sequels until I saw Children of Dune on tv. Frank Herbert was definently a master at writing.
