Advice for a good group?

I recently played BG through with this group:

Me (fighter)
Khalid
Jaheira
Kivan
Xan
Imoen

I want to do it again with a mage as my character (Xan is not the best there is), but I need a good fighter. I have Khalid and Minsc, but can anybody tell me where another one is???

Ajantis is decent with a sword, and he has Lay on Hands and cool stuff like that. He can be found in the area south of the BG bridge, with all the ankhegs.
This was my good party fo rbeatring the game:
Me(fighter/mage)
Minsc
Imoen
Ajantis
Dynaheir
Branwen/Yeslick(I took Yeslick, but now consider Branwen better.)

I like to keep my groups small, but this is what i would choose for a full party

Heres what i would think for a group if i didnt go solo next time.

1.Fighter \
Both do damage and can "Tank", or take damage.
2.Paladin <
Both can heal and keep party alive.
3.Cleric <
Both can cast magical spells, dont need to melee
4.Mage <
Both have ranged attacks, dont need to get hit
5.Theif <
N/A
6.Avatar < I would choose a Ranger becuase they can do moderate melee attacks, great ranged attacks, and can heal at higher levels.

Hopefully my little chart turned out to look alright, but thats the ideal party for me.

basically, this is my ideal:
2-3 fighters, can be mage/fighter or other combo
1 theif
1 Cleric(mage/cleric)
1-2 mages, can be mage/cleric, or mage/fighter

Yeslick is in the Cloakwood mines.

BTW, Dynaheir is a pretty good mage, I never felt the need to dual Imoen.

You probably don't need more than two solid front line fighters, but if you can live with 18 reputation, then Shar Teel and Kagain (both evil-aligned) are also good candidates for fighters. Shar Teel is a VERY strong human fighter with very nice dexterity, but pitifully low constitution. She can be found sharpening her blade in the Ballisk area. Kagain is a moderately strong dwarven fighter with incredible constitution (20), but relatively low dexterity. He runs a shop in the heart of Beregost. These two actually make a nice combination with Kagain acting as a tank with his regenerating hit points and Shar Teel skirting the front lines bashing heads with her raw strength. BUT, they are evil

You can also pick up Coran (good-aligned elven fighter/thief with 20 dex) in Chapter 4 if you are looking to replace Kivan at the archer spot.

Yis, if im correct is a dwarf... And if is the guy im thinking of in the Cloakwood Mines, then heres how to get to him.

There is a cook somewhere in the Mines, talk to her then a secret door will be revealed, open the door and go through, when you get out of the narrow hallway go down, to the left there should be another secret door outlined in red. It took me like 20 times going back and forth until the door finally appeared. But the dwarf tells you about how you can flood the mines and what not... thats where he is. I THINK! I gotta go look at my journal for my current game.

The Paladin is wearing a purple helmet on the ROAD in the ZONE thats between Baldurs Gate Bridge and the Friendly Arm Inn. Hes near the bottom, look around the bottom of the area, he is on or around a ROAD! AT THE BOTTOM!!!!
