I purchased and downloadeed successfully the NWN Premium mod Kingmaker and attempted to play but there was an "authentication error" message that won't let me play. The Bioware shop required me to register my CD key, so I assume that is not meshing with the game I have installed. I do have two games, but I guessed wrong on which version I have installed. Is there any way short of completely reinstalling NWN or purchasing another version of the mod that I can make these tow compatible?

None that I am aware of myself...but I hope the best for you! Get on the horn to the techs or something if you cannot get the answer. Don't give up!

What you can do is open up your NWNCDKEY.ini file and switch around your CD Keys. Then try again.
If you have two CD keys and you think you entered the wrong one then try that. If your still having authentication problems then contact Bioware Tech Support.

Its in the NWN root directory.
Windows may want to hife the .ini part of the filename from you, but there isnt another file of that name in there, so just look for the nwncdkey part.

No, editing the ini-file is quite effective. I tried it myself when I switched two CD-keys.

Yes, thank you Andrewas, that worked. Great module, I am having a great time, though it is a pain to have to connect to the Internet anytime you have to load.

You should check out the IW Mod, Escape from Undermountain, Attalus! It's huge, and you can play it 24/7 online. Maybe we'll see you in there sometime.
