I have just flooded the Cloakwood mines and am ready to enter BG. Do I need to complete Durlag's Tower BEFORE entering BG?? Seems I heard somewhere that all outside quests need to be done before entering BG. I have the ToSC expansion. Tanx!

Next (your question):
No - you do not need that. The tower (and the other TotSC quests) can be done at any time in the game, as long as you haven't done the final fight. IMO you should get a little more experience, before you enter the tower. Durlags Tower is harder than the rest of the game.
Hopes that helps.

InsaneBane is right! Durlag's is very difficult. however, i went to durlag's probably right before cloakwood and did the top part and it really raised my XP a lot...it is tough though. i would suggest waiting to do the lower part after you have gained a few levels. if you are having a tough time there before you get into the actual tower i would say come back later.

Hmm... I went in at level 6 or seven and left at the exp. cap. Wasn't too hard. Of course I was a CLUA junkie back then.

CLUA is the most overpowered skill in the game

Until now I have resisted the use of it.

well my guys are like level 7 and imoen is level 7 thief and 5 mage and im just away to kill davareon so id say if ur chars are as high as mine go for it. My recommendation if ur doin durlags it to do it all at once, doing the top first if fine (it is MUCH eassier but u might aswell do it all at once. + Make sure that u dont have to much stuff in your inventory cos theres heaps of stuff to get there. Id say after uv cleared out the top half go out and self ur stuff to the guy outside(cant remeber his name) and do this again after u solve the riddles but before going to the next level.

Yep, just to emphasize Ross's point. When you visit Durlag's tower, only take the essentials. And keep as many weapon quickslots open as you can for extra storage. Same with Item slots. Bring needed Items only (e.g. heal potions, Scrolls of useful magic. I've actually made several trips in and out of the towers lower half, because I wasn't careful about my item packing.
