Just finished book 1 of the Trilogy (Darkwalker).
Anyone else read it? It was an 'ok' read. Kinda slow till the Middle. This is one of the first Forgotten Realms Novels ever made (1987)!! I finally found all 3 books, and decided to read them.

They are an ok read Ziroc. The thing I liked most about them is the Celtic style setting. I ran a whole campaign based there and never ran out of ideas. Just too much going on there. The Moonshaes would be a great setting for a Neverwinter Nights module. Maybe I should get off my duff and learn scripting so I could do just that.

Is this the first or second trilogy? I can't remember. I liked the second one better.

I liked the second one better. The real thing that made me enjoy the trilogy was the heavy Druidic, Celtic and Norse themes. There is a good conclusion in the third.
One thing I didn't like was Bhaal sounds too much like Bane. But then it was the first FR novel .... EDIT: Funny you should post this Z, I was thinking on starting a thread on this myself considdering the other FR threads .... [ 02-27-2003, 09:13 PM: Message edited by: Night Stalker ]

I forget the author, and I've long-since mislaid the books. Who wrote them? |

I read them last year and really enjoyed them. Yah, the celtic, druid, bard thing was kind of what made me hooked. The culture of the people is slightly different than the rest of the Forgotten Realm world. It is a great Trilogy that I enjoyed from start to finish. There are also so many themes in the book such as change, old world vs. new. It was similar to that of the history of the British Isles in our world as well with the old Druidic religion dying with the coming of the Romans and being replaced by Christianity. You see that thoughout the book, the old ways are dying, and new religions are entering and change is taking place for better or worse.
