I have completed the game, and I am playing again in an attempt to find some of the powerful magic that didn't come up in my first game. I have looked through the strategies manual and I noticed a number of items that I would like to find if they actually made it into the final version of the game. So, if anyone has found any of the following items, can you let me know where they are exactly? Thanks!
Glory of suffering (plate -3, -25 hp) Studded leather +4 (shadowed) Silver bracers (AC 2) Long Bow +4 (Hammer) Patriot helm Illian's Hunting Helm Benorg's Truth (axe +4) Mage Dagger +4 |

That's an impressive list but i have never seen any of those items and i have completed the game twice... my personal fave weapon is the pale justice but the shock flail +4 comes pretty close. Even those it can't stun look pretty funny when the lightning goes off. Apart from the dead mans face helm the only other mag helm i have seen is the one dedicated to lathander. Cheers

I found the patriot helm with the second cleric of Auril. The mage dagger plus 4 was with the assorted treasures of the dwarf graves. The helm of lathender was better than the helm of the patriot because it also gives you 3 granted cleric spells once per day. Hope this helps, Cheers...

Almost forgot, two other interesting items i found were the ring of theives (+1 str, plus one attack a round. In the throne when you fight the drow wizard) and the shadow robe (ac 3 with 15% mag resist. In the hand).
Ps. The patriot helm only gives you 2 off your ac. But looks nice. Cheers |

Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, though - when you say "second priest of auril", I assume you mean Kontik in the frost giant caves. Is this right? And "dwarf graves" refers to the tombs in the lich's chmabers and/or the hall of heroes? You're right about the helm of lathander being the best - I've got that one and I'm hoping to find the patriot helm for one of my other characters. Thanks again for the help.

I have found the Longbow of Hammering (absoloutly BADASSED weapon) in Maiden Ilmaters little house , but that was on my 3rd time through the game I got different items on the previouse two times. And the +4 shadow armour i found in one of the chests or cupboards in Markeths room. Both of these items are random so keep at it and you will get them eventually.

Hemloc, yep the priestess in the frost giant caves had the helm in the second cache closest to the bottom of the wall (funny because i am sure sometimes there are no items in that one). The dagger was found in the chambers area in the top left of the screen (there are 3 tombs there but i can't recall which one turned up the dagger) Cheers to Malaketh for the info on the bow of hammering. I had found only +2 studded leather of shadowing so i suppose i will be making my fourth trip into IWD. *sigh* Hemloc is that plate -3? Is it a cursed item or something? Or is that the ac it is? One other thing to note is that the mage dagger only causes 1d4+2 damage for some odd reason but counts as +4 for whom you may hit. Cheers
Ps. One funny thing i did after finding the spell diver sword was make a dual classed thief who gets 4 attacks a round. I used it to stop Belifet from casting spells and was quite funny to see him forced to only fight in melee. |

Thanks for the info! I'll have to keep at it to find the bow of hammering +4 and shadowed leather +4. Erekose - yes, the "glory of suffering" plate is listed in the help book as an AC of negative 3 (!), but reduces your hp by 25. Seems like a strange item, and I doubt it's really in the game, but it seemed like cool armor for a paladin, so I thought I'd ask. Cheers!

Thanks, Strife. It is interesting to know that it is in the game. If you come across it in another game, or remember where you got it, let me know.
