I watched this movie yesterday evning fot the first time and I must say I loved it. It's very good. I like the story, the fights, evertyhing. The flying parts might be a little bit over the top but still, a very good movie. It was a little sad that the sword owner died at the end but still it helds a very good message.

There was an extended version of this movie? What does this extended version add to the original one?

I didn't know there was an extended edition either.
Does it have subtitles rather than dubbed? I watched a dubbed version and it just didn't have the same feel as the original subtitled version. |

I like the subtitled version better myself. If you liked it, check our Hero or House of Flying Daggers

Subtitled is always better than dubbed. I saw a subtitled rip of the movie before it was even released in the us as I recall.
Then I saw the dubbed version, dubbing just doesn't work. For another GREAT subtitled movie get "Das Boot"... don't even bother with the dubbed version. It's the ultimate submarine movie, bar none. |

I found the New Release Extended Edition at Blockbuster. You have to look closely at the box to pick up on the mention that it is not the original release.
I own the original and do not want to rent the new one until somebody else tells me that it is worth it. |

I watched the original version not the extended one. I didn't even know that extended one exists.

House of Flying Daggers is less good than both Hero and Crouching Tiger, however it is still worth watching and has some excellent parts.
