Finally, i've found time to play neverwinter. Geez all you guys out there must be playing it for the 10th? 20th? time? haha well. let's start it this way then... do u think the guide's worth it? put it in another way, i like having a guide book for reference to a great rpg, like u wont miss out everything this and that and hey they've got item stats too isnt iT? but is the SP onli 60hrs of gameplay? i've heard people saying they completed it in a day!?!? well .. if that's the case.. the guide seems realli a waste isnt it?

so how many of you spent weeks and still with ur first character? =D
please advise me.i'm so lost now.

it's either Neverwinter guide or Morrowind guide which is another essential.

having the advantage of haveing played Morrowind and am in the last chapter of NwN a guid book would be more helpfull for Morrowind than NwN just because there are tons of little out of the way places to go to in Morrowind like there isn't in NwN. Also In NwN all the main people have name instead of genaric ones unlike again NwN. They are both great games though.

I made the mistake of playing online as a first time experience. It's true you can finish in a day (or even less), but you miss out on a lot when you play that fast. I spent a few hours (2 or 3) getting the intellect devourer, but then some people came online. Well, thinking it would be better to join a party, I transferred Leadership so I could travel to the main group. We averaged about 1 hour on each task (some people even went off and did other parts while we did ours). We got the reagents in less than 2 hours all total. Some people also did side quests. It was pretty fun overall though. My character was raising up levels faster than you could blink (ok, maybe not that fast, but still. LOL). After awhile (after restarting), I kinda knew what was going on, so when "newbies" came on, I took them by the hand and started walking them through the game too. Even tossed them some gold or items that I was gathering as duplicates. It's a larger game than people give it credit for. My guess is that they aren't completists. If you go through a level and you just tag and bag what you have to do, it will be a much smaller game. Well, anyway, that's my opinion of the matter. I suggest playing solo first. That way you can concentrate on multi as multi and not storyline.

The Perfect Guide is really uneven, great in some areas, hopeless in others. It can be a help, so I say, buy it.

I skimmed through it and thought it was a waste of money. Mostly those things just reprise the manual. The maps and puzzles aren't that difficult. The advice is suspect because I don't play on the NORMAL (wimpy) setting, but use hard-core rules while soloing...

I could understand for a fluid RTS type game, because the pointers can really help you brush up lacking parts of your game. But this isn't that type of game.
