Redoran quest trouble

I am haveing trouble doing missions for councilor llethri. He tells me to shut down the mine (ebony) in caldera. I have tried but it is not working. THey all tell me to talk to the guy in caldera castle, this percius guy i think. anyway he won't talk to me he just keeps saying goodbye and stuff like that. I have freed all the slaves too. What's a high elf to do? (i tried killing him once too)

go to the slave hut and release the head slave. the key is on top of the guard house.

did you have any journal entry saying that "by releasing the head slave, the mines should be shut down for weeks"?

i might have but i talked to councilor llethri and he still says "i'm confident you'll find a way to shut the mines down"

I forgot to tell you, you need to go to caldera castle and go to northernmost strair. enter a door when you see it. you'll see a chest. inside is a ledger that you MUST give to llethri.

after that then you free the head slave.

right i found that too and he still won't let me proceedd to the next mission. THat's why i'm kinda angry

which did you do first? give the ledger first or free head slave ? if you free head slave first then try kill this two Ordal Helvi (Governor's Hall, room next to the one with the record book) and Stlennios Vibato (Mining Company Office).

however, if you give ledger first then check your journal for 2 journal entry.

There is another bug with the councilor that has you rescue his son, after you rescue the son, you have to solve the murder of the sons friend, which the son is believed to have killed, if you had previously looted the home of the councilor and taken the ash statue belonging to the son, the game will hit a glitch, and you cannot be promoted any higher in house redoran from this point on. (Believe me, I've tried)

I had to load my backup file-- all the way 50 days back and replay the game. THis time i gave the ledger to him first! It worked, thanks guys...now i can do more crappy quests. Btw, if u have a garrison in your stronghold, can u upgrade ur stronghold any more?
