In "the fellowship of the ring" in bilbo's "long expected party," was Bilbo turning 106 or 111 years old? I think it was 111 myself and I need some folks here at Ironworks to help me prove a teacher of mine wrong

yup Bilbo was turning 111 and Frodo was turning 33. Which made their combined age 144, a gross, which is considered a rude term to apply to hobbits btw

Frodo was 50 when he left Hobbiton on his birthday, T.A 3018, at the time of the War of the Ring T.A. 3018-19; he was born T.A. 2968. "A Long Expected Party" occurred many years before, T.A. 3001, when he was 33. See "The Tale of Years" in Appendix A.
