Well ive just got home after going to the cinema and watching Mullholand Drive and im simply STONED. What is that ? Is it supposed to make any sense ? My head hurts terribly, i hope someone explains me what is this movie about. Only 15 people or so were in the cinema watching this film, and NONE of us understood anything about it.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help, I *REALLY* need it

I don't think Ive seen it, but do let me offer some advice. Some movies are just bad. they are poorly made, poorly written, or poorly edited, and in the end of it all they make absolutely no sense at all, might this be one of those?

Possibly they were paid to say that the movie is good even though it's crap?

You know, I can usually judge whether I'm going to like a movie by what the critics say. If they say that it's an interesting psychological study, I stay away. If they criticize it because it's unrealistic, I'll usually liked it. If it is criticized as being exploitive of women, simplistic, or too violent, I'll like it. If it's French, or praised for the cinematography, I won't like it. If it's said to be too sentimental or romantic, Galadria will like it and make me go, and I'll say that I didn't like it, but I will. Just one man's opinion.

There was an article in a movie magazine last year that uncovered the fact that a few of the studios "made up" comments from critics i.e. the critic didn't exist, so I always take what the "critics" say with a pinch of salt.

as a rule i don't go see a movie if the critics are going crazy over it.they seem to like robert altman and david lynch while i find them to be horrible(anyone remember dune?).and downunda it was sony pictures that created a fictional film critic.

here's a review... not that it give us much info. Based on the director I expect nobody can easily figure out the point of the movie. I saw some of Twin Peaks, and it was a very bizarre series.

I've driven Mulholland Drive from 405 to Topanga on numerous occasions (quite a few years ago though)... it's was a beautiful drive once you got to the dirt section. It's certainly a road befitting a movie with lots of twists and turns.

The critics could be playing safe. They might not have understood it either and just gave it a good review incase they missed something.
