My party consists of 1 fighter,2 clerics and 3 mages(sorcerers and 1 wizard).Should I include a Druid to my party? The reason I ask this is because I quite like Druids, but they don't seem to be powerful.Afterall, this is a roleplaying game,so I think it is better to play according to my personal likings rather than boring powerful characters. What should I do,which character should I remove?Need your suggestions.
Thanks alot |

Well i know that Druids ruled in IWD. I am sure they are similar in IWD2. Try and decide. </font> |
druids can shapeshift and they can also summon. they have some healing spell and some magic spell as well. I think you'll know what to do already. ;)

Well, first of all, shapeshifting is too weak. You are probably better off wearing your equipments.Second, clerics have offensive spells too(firestorm, flamestrike and meteor swarm for morninglord).Clerrics can summon too.I have a silverstar of selune and he can summon elementals and elemental legions.I think that healing and buffing is more important considering you have arcane casters in your party.

From what I've read, druids are considered to be be very capable offensive spellcasters. I've never tried one before, but may do so in my next party.

Druids have some very nice area of effect spells.

So which character should i replace?I reall can't make up my mind.

I'd suggest dumping either one of the sorcs or the wizard. Face it, losing 1 out of 3 arcane spallcasters and replacing ti with a druid really isn't going to affect the overall firepower of this group. Furthermore, adding a druid will increase the melee firepower of the party, since a druid should be better then a mage in melee.

As well I like then for the tough outside battles. Nothing better than frying you opponents with lightning bolds. They lose some of there spunk inside however.
Rainstorm is a nice low level area effect spell (again outside only) [ 06-27-2003, 06:52 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
I would certainly take one. I love druids, and their spells are sweet (especially at higher levels.)
What I'd counsel you to do is start off as a ranger, then take druid all the way through. That way, you can use much better weapons and dual-wield, and one level less of druid doesn't hurt you much at all, especially if you take the party through Heart of Fury. :D PS: Take out one of your clerics. Presumably they are geared towards different things (one for healing, one for buffs, etc.) Replace the buffer or the more combat oriented one. A druid simply cannot compete with a pure healer IMHO.
