Your level or equipments doesn't matter at all, as long as you're not at the endgame. Pure raiding guild usually want nothing to do with low level players, other guilds will have a variety of people to play with. Of course if your friends play more they will out level you and you won't be able to play with them, but there's plenty of low level people/alts around.

The time you get to play is only a factor if you want to raid, as most raiding guilds use a point system to determine who get loot when. Let's say every hour you raid get you one point. It's going to take you a long time to get loot, if you get 3 points a week and the average raider get 15 a week, there were lots of people that complained about that in my old guild.

But it's not so bad as it look, once they get the items on their wishlist there's going to be items no one want. For example my friend had a warlock, and on his first raid he got 2 items, because all our warlocks had all their set. We had an excess of rogue loot too.

Edit: The rest system. It stop once you have one level worth of double xp saved up, so you can't leave your character a month and have double xp for the next 5 levels, but it's nice, especially if you have multiple characters, let one rest while you level the other one.

It stops at 2-1/2 -3 levels iirc.

Edit: Unless they changed it. My old rogue was rested about 2 1/2 levels once.

I did too, it used to be 1.5 now it's 2. I think in 1.10 they may have moved it to 2.5 and then reset it back because I had a mod that monitored rested xp and it read 2.5 a few months ago, odd.

Edit: Just read the intend to change it come BC expansion. Higher or lower I don't know but this is one of a few changes they are making when it hits to cater toward casual players. Thankfully the honor system is being totally revamped and works more like gold and spending rather than waiting till tuesdays. Can't wait.

Have you thought about the class you may want to pick for the hero you are making? Priests are always needed and make great pvpers too.

By the by, what would win in a fight with two highly expert players, a druid or priest?

If those in your guild move faster than you, then that's that. They'll get to level 60 first. That's all. If they get 60 raiders to 60 first, that'll give them the full potential to raid.

But that never happens. Here's how it works:
- You get in a low-level guild and stay in it while levelling up. New people enter and leave the guild, but it will almost never raid. If most of its leaders get to 60, the guild will usually disband as the leaders get gobbled up by a raiding guild; Or....

- You have a buddy like me with a guild that has a Friends & Family policy. We invite you to our guild. You get to hear uber leet talk in guild chat while you level your noob ass up. Once you get to 60, you get in line for "lowbie" raids like ZG and MC that uber leeters like moi can't be bothered with any more. Gratz on the phat lewt that rolls your way. And.....

- You must keep in mind that come xPac by the end of the year, all the rules are thrown out the window, because guilds balanced for 40 people all shudder at the upcoming 25-man raid limit.

My guild isn't a WoW guild so much as it's a MMO guild, btw. It's kind of a unique creature. These guys met on EQ and Dark Ages of Camelot. I've got a feeling WoW isn't the last game I'll be playing with them.

On the other hand, a RL friend of mine simply believes that the first 25 people to hit level 70 will become the first next end-game guild, simply because they'll start raiding together.

Priest. Druid goes OOM. Or tries something stupid like omg-kittyftw lolz.

And, regarding REST: I don't know if it's changing with the xPac. I do know that heretofore they said all level 60 characters would get 1.5 levels of rest with xPac. LOL I haven't seen my xp bar in ages. I've spent twice that time at level 60 that I spent getting to 60.

[/QUOTE]Locks and Hunters are the level kings mind you. Having pets that take damage for you and heal themselves to full health in seconds flat gives these two classes a major level atvantage.

Warriors aren't bad for leveling either (Pre-pet, Hunter was slower. Post-Pet, Hunter has to recoup mana after each fight.) Pallies are ridiculously efficient (It's a rare 1v1 against same level mob that my mana bar and health bars aren't close to full.)

If I'm grinding undead or humaniods, then I almost never drink. Pull, kill, life tap, cannibalize, pull, etc.
