Dear Dragonshadow, I am for the decision, but against the policy. KI has both noble and estimable goals, but that is not to suggest that feckless attitudes and reckless policy-making will be enough to ensure the beginnings of a Kobold strata to our present civilised demographic.
It has long been my desire to see a realistic and acceptable attempt at the KI experiment, to ascertain fully whether Kobolds are capable of intermingling with the rest of Faerûn, or to remain forever apart from society. All that the mainstream members of KAK have called for is a structured and organised apporach to the KI issue. The original "policy" as touted by BYOB militants was to begin Kobold integration on a wide-scale measure. Both KAK and many members of the Senate found that idea unworkable, and unacceptable. Hence, the founding of Area 51. Am I for the Kobold or against him? Yes AND no. All that KAK requires is proof (clear, unfettered and justifiable proof) that the experiment is more than a poorly-concealed attempt to raise an army in our midst, or emotionally-driven over-sensitivity to the Sword Coast's "Kobold problem". Lord Brass sah,
I didn't understand half of what you said, since I do not speak all fancy with long words no offence intended. Good to see you back. Even if you are with the kobolds. Iron Throne Loyalist, I am sorry for all accusations I made suggesting that you had captured Mr. Lord Brass. I hope you will accept my appologies. Yrs, DS |

ok i tried to post in here the other day and accidentally screwed up, but neways ill say wut i said then, if the population of kobolds is so out of control, we can send a few lvl 4-5 mages in their with a few fire ball spells or fire ball wands in their, and thus ure problem of the kobolds breeding "rabbits on steroids" is not a problem nemore, and we can feed the venison/roasted kobold to all the poor homeless halflings who live in the sewers of baldurs gate

Of late, my appearance at Senate meetings has not been exemplary, and to those fellow members, I must apologise. However, that being said, we are all entitled to outside activities, and for this particular politician, my endeavours have centred in passing the prurient (if not exhaustive) testing as directed (and devised) by the sages and wordsmiths of Carilanthus' School.
This is unacceptable however, I understand this, and I have failed to carry out a duty that has been asked of me. Esteemed Chairman Legolas, has asked for verification on my part to corroborate, or denigrate, Mr Underhill's harrowing tale of imprisonment at K.A.K. headquarters. I am sad to say that it is true. Mr Underhill was indeed "quartered" in a metal box within a secret room that led off from our cellar. (It would seem that houses in Baldur's are full of such architectural devices.) It grieves me to admit that it would appear, based on the above evidence, that it was a member of my own organisation that has helped bring this sorry state into existence. For that, I and other right-minded members of K.A.K. must be held (at least) partly responsible. It would seem that it is not only the Senate that has a provocative element in it's midst. We must all be vigilant. How then does Dragonshadow figure in this torrid mixture of ideology and disenfranchisement? Who can say, as she is not a member of our organisation. Perhaps she is a catspaw (dragonspaw) of the remnant Iron Thronists? Perhaps she acted alone, or even in conjunction with a despotic barbarian of our acquaintance. I for one would like answers to these questions. As for the allegations surrounding my colleague Myrddin L'argenton, I would like to give my full and unconditional support for such a trusted member of the Senate. Ahh, such poor and befuddled times have cast a long and tiresome shadow over our noble House. I feel honour bound to continue the work of our Chairman in discovering the truth; to this end I have despatched my own agent - Quirill the Thrice-Charmed - to gather what evidence there is on the terrible occurrences at Area 51, and the despicable mendicants who would perpetrate such heinous crimes. For they are crimes, not just against the K.I. movement, not just against Underhill (a duly elected member of the Senate), not even against the humans and kobolds in the integration process, but a crime against the Senate, the Sword Coast and all of Faerûn. If we, the members of the House remain constant to the articles of faith as outlined in our Constitution, then we may all prevail over the agents of destruction that seek to drag the Sword Coast into damnable ruin. I thank you. Then perhaps we can begin to tackle the issue of homeless Hobbits living in squalor under the city streets. [ 05-11-2003, 07:17 PM: Message edited by: Lord Brass ]

As an elected member of this Senate, I must see to the wishes of my constituents. Many of my constituents are members in that esteemed organization known as the Iron Throne. Perhaps we could allow the integration of the kobolds to be conducted by the new and improved Iron Throne? Kobolds can be put to work in warehouses, mines, factories, caravans and other such duties as they are capable of handling.
The possibilities are right before our eyes, gentlemen. Oh, which brings me to another point. My dear colleague Dragonshadow; as a matter of protocol here in the Senate, all members are referred to as Mr. and/or Sir, without regard to their actual gender. To do otherwise shall require an amendment to the Senate Rules and Regulations for protocol and etiquette. I remain, your obedient servant, Sir Kerap |

More well spoken and more true words have seldom been spoken inside these hallowed chambers than have those that have been voiced by Lord Brass. I propose that if we are to make a true attempt at Kobold Integration we must take steps that have never been thought of before...think outside the box if you will....Therefore I propose the following...As you all know my attempt at kobold integration was only partially successful...true we were able to build a community where human, dwarf, elf, halfling AND Kobold were able to live and coeixist quite peacefully side by side...unfortunately that village has since been burned to the ground and it's citizens slain by those who are biased and biggoted enough against Kobolds to commit such heinous acts...but because of my prematurely ended experiment we now know that KI is in fact a feasable reality...So my fellow members of the Senate I propose the following acts for debate which, when passed, will lead to a new society with integrated and peaceful Kobolds as our neighbors and coworkers...As we all know the organization known as the Iron Throne has caused the citt of Baldur's gate and the lands that surround it no end of trouble...and no one REALLY believes them when they claim that they are reformed and are now a kinder, gentler organization...I propose that as restitution for the trouble that has been caused by this organization that we sieze their assets both in and around the city of Bauldur's Gate and put them to a more socially productive use...We could change their massive headquarters building into both a school and a boarding house for Kobolds who wish to be integrated into our society...the funds from their many mines could be used to fund the projects of housing and educating the kobolds...and the buildings position inside the walls of our beloved Baldur's Gate will offer the kobolds a protection from violence as they strive to become citizens...a protection that they could not be given previously...even secretly in the wilderness...I also propose that not if but when these measures are put into place there is no single man to be put in charge of the KI program but a council of three...myself, Lord Brass, and a third member to be elected by this august body...let us put to rest the destruction and the pain that has been caused by the Iron throne on our fair land and begin to build a legacy of good that will benefit all...With this I will yield the floor to debate this proposal in the hopes that we will see the bright future that could be for Bauldur's Gate before us...
