Where is Rubble supposed to be after you complete the "Cover Ops" Training in Mt. Gigas, I have explored the entire complex other than the Restricted Areas And Still No Rubble. I am pLaying the latest patch from the Wiz 8 Website (2001_12_23_Release). This is sucking If I have to revert to a earlier save cause exploring the Unexplored Area Took Forever, and I Like My Blunderbus.

I have tried repeatedly for days to get the door to open. I have fixed the wires and reapplied the badge to no avail. What are you doing that is different than me. I have even tried to download a patch but that still doesn't open the door and I replayed the game from start just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I know that I am at the right door it is due east of the machine and not the two that are north or south. Do I have defective game discs and have to send my whole box back to chips n bits where I bought it?

To get into the area with covert ops you must first try using your highest level access card on the machine. This causes the machine to break. Go to the back side of the machine and click on the wires to put them back in place. Now go to the front of the machine again and use youre highest level access card on the machine. The door should now open.

You may have to try using your card a couple of times to find the "sweet spot"

There seem to be 2 different problems here, so just to be thorough here's what should happen when you are sent in to Mt. Gigas to complete some training (obvious spoilers follow).

1) Use your highest level IUF card on the training scanner. It should break.

2) Go to the back of the scanner, and touch each wire from left to right to reconnect them. Use your highest level IUF card on the scanner again, and it will instruct you to proceed to the Gunnery training.

3) Talk to Sgt. Rubble in the Gunnery section, he'll give you a rocket launcher and improve everybody's Modern Weapon skill to 10, and tell you to meet him in Covert Ops after taking some target practice. I've always gone down to the end of the gunnery range to explore the storage room down there, and when I return he's gone. I also take a couple potshots at the training dummies just for kicks.

4) Head to Covert Ops, and Rubble should be right inside the doorway. Do what he says, and go through the door on the right and follow the caves around in a loop, killing everything you see and collecting flags. After exploring everything exit through the door with the blue switch, which will take you right back to where you started. Rubble should be right where you left him, just inside the doorway to Covert Ops.

It's really that simple; I'm not sure what the original poster meant by asking where Rubble is after you complete the Covert Ops mission, because he should be right back where you left him. If he isn't, it sounds like a bug or something (maybe try reloading an old save game from before you entered the Upper Mt. Gigas map area).

Hope this helps...

if you leave the map after Covert Ops, Rubble heads into the UTU area...where Gen. Yamir sends you for training to go into Bayjin. Talk to Balbrak (I think Rubble sends you to him after Covert Ops...him or Yamir...one or the other...anyway, Balbrak should send you to Yamir and Yamir will direct you to UTU...which is on the opposite side of the Covert Ops Area, you just need permission (from Yamir) to get in....he or Balbrak will give you a level 6 pass.
