::Liliara rides in silence next to Sir Denis. She felt comforted when she was near him and even managed to laugh a couple of times at the adventuring tales being exchanged between Vangard and Res. She eyed the heavily guarded wagon with a mixture of suspicion and curiousity::

The middle aged merchant saw the party, and scanned the group with interest. His gaze stopped at the elven archer, who rode on contently, seeming to enjoy the wild, then passed to the warrior woman who rode beside the Crown Guard.

He smiled to the pair friendly

OOC: LOL! Which is why we are still alive!

IC: ::Liliara smiled and nodded politely. She had grown accostomed to keeping her silence around strangers. She looked over the man before she looked once more into the wagon, trying to catch a glimpse of what precious cargo it may contain. She glanced at Sir Denis and he met her gaze before turning to look back upon the stranger.::

"Morning, m'lady" the man said "How fares the road?"

His proper manner showed him to be a well-educated man.

The man registered the warrior woman's suspicious look, then smiled characteristically "Fear not, these guards are just for the safty of my wagons."

As if scowling himself, "These days," shaking head slightly, he breathed a small sigh

"But it does not concern you, your party is obviously companied with seasoned warriors. He looked at the battle hardened dwarf and the others admiringly. then he added

"Like yourself"

Shadow took notice of the extra guards, and considered why they might be along. It was possible these men were moving contraband, but doubtful from their looks. More likely the extra guards meant there was a pretty good chance of this being a dangerous road. It would be wise to keep wary.

::Liliara eased slightly at his words and demeanor, but her instincts never really allowed her to let down her guard these days. She had seen too much to allow herself the extravagance of trust.. Nevertheless, she had been brought up with manners.::

The roads are long my lord, as you yourself know.

The man laughed heartily, his laughter resounding in his round belly

"My lord?" He looked at your incrediously (sp?) "Oliver will do, I go by Oliver."

Still laughing, he said "Pardon my impudence. Yes, long road indeed. I am heading to Ashwavn, west."

"Ashwavn," Denis nodded knowingly "That is why all these guards?"

"Ahem" Oliver replied "a Crown Guard erh?" He looked at the osprey eagle spreading its wings proudly in front of Denis' chestplate.

Denis nodded once more "Denis"

"Greetings, Sir Denis" Oliver addressed him respectfully "I am to meet a division of Crown Guards at Zephyra Woods, after I go around those"

He pointed to the mountain ranges westward. You looked at that direction, green moutains covered in white snows, peaks reach into the clouds, quite a fascinating sight.

"Sunset Mountains, I am traveling around it. Where are you heading, may I ask?"

::Liliara remained silent again. If anyone was to speak of the party's destination, it wouldn't be her. She leaned forward in her saddle, gently stroking Drak's neck as they rode. Drak nickered appreciatively. She looked back to Oliver::

It is good to meet you, Oliver. Perhaps we may be sharing this road for a while.

Oliver frowned slightly, shrugged helplessly, apparently not enjoying the unfriendly conversation.

"Due south is Giant Plains" he smirked. before he turned and rode on

"I know quite a lot about the surroundings, by the way, and Giant Plains" His scowled expression turned a bit sour "tough ride, good luck"

Several your companions regarded Oliver curiously, wanting to know what he meant by that. Res and Vangard rode way ahead, didn't hear any of it.
