Continuing traveling south, you entered the Giant Plains. Off in the distance you hear a low thunder! You look in the
direction of the sound and you see a set of low clouds moving your way.
(A few minutes later) As the thunder grows louder and the clouds move
closer you see a small black object moving along the ground towards you!

::Liliara debates drawing in Drak's reins, shooting a nervous glance to Sir Denis. She looks again on the black figure closing in, nervous energy coming over her. Her eyes move to Legolas::

The elf's eyes are good, but the long line of dusts filled the horizon. No one can look into the dusts. You feel the ground tremble beneath you

The line of dusts is advancing towards the party. It is a good few miles long horizontally. Judging by by eyes, it will reach you by count of 40.

Legolas did not have too much experience in the ways of the plains, but it was obvious there was trouble coming. His first guess was a horseman came at them, pursued by a band of bandits or raiders. But all he could see was the dust, or maybe sand, and something black coming at them.

"Quick!" he shouted. "Set up tents, cover the horses!"

If this really was a sand storm, they would need all the protection they could get

Jumping down from his horse, he pulled free his own shelter and started putting it up. Looking at the other partymembers, he saw some confusion. But there was no time to explain.

"Do it!"

::Liliara dismounted Drak, heeding to the urgent tone of Legolas' command. She quickly began to help with setting the tents, Drak close by. She thought she could hear the sound of the horseman's approach, but then wondered if it was just the sound of the stirring storm::

The thunderous herd charged you with incredible momentume (sp). You felt the ground shaken. The line approached nearer, and you began to see forms within the boiling dusts.

Buffalos.

Hundreds and hundreds of them. The herd is driven mad, and ran towards you with full speed. The horses shuffled about nervously, some began to lose control.

"Oh me be a yellow faced goblin dog..." Vagard's voice trailed off..

Legolas stared, wide eyed. This was like nothing he had ever seen before. The dust was there, but it was not nearly as much of a threat as the big brown creatures baring down on them.

Abandoning his tent, Legolas followed Res and Vangard's examples by jumping on his horse and turning the other way around. Spurring the beast onwards, he tried to outrun the herd, but also moved sideways, hoping to avoid them altogether.

Sniffy's head popped up behind him, and the little beast blew tiny puffs of smoke at the herd in an attempt to help.
