Sorcerer is definately the easiest to solo, and if you like fighting the monk becomes very powerful in the higher levels. I was worried about dealing with magic spells and especially Beholders, but his MR is now so how that almost nothing touches him.

quote: The behavior of the spell Project Image. Once your Sorcerer gets it, you become more powerful than an army of mages. Literally. What Project Image allows you to do is create a copy of yourself. Your copy cannot attack, but can cast spells. Here's the powerful part: when your copy casts a spell, it is not deleted from your memory, just the copy's memory. Better still, your copy can cast Project Image itself. Now add in Time Stop and Improved Alacrity. The latter removes the casting delay between spells, while the former gives you three rounds to cast as much as you'd like. In combination, and conjunction with the Robe of Vecna and the Amulet of Power, you can pretty much empty a mage of magic (i.e. cast every spell in memory) before the time stop runs out. If not, cast another Time Stop ... the Image isn't saving its magic for any other fights. When your 2nd Image runs out of magic, it can strike itself with the staff of the Magi, dispelling itself, and your first Image can create another, and unload it within another Time Stop or two. Total cost of fight to original Sorcerer: one 7th level spell. A normal Mage could do this by memorizing two Project Images, but he'd have to sleep after the fight. A Sorcerer can do this eight times a day ... and that's not counting the fights he could win using other tactics, like summoning a Planetar, going invisible and letting the super smurf handle the action. -- Nifft |

This is going to sound weird coming from me, but it is in my opinion that the dual-classed Kensai->Mage is the easiest to solo with.
Dualled at level 13, this class has potent melee capabilities boosted by spells. You ain't seen nothing yet until you see this fella with Stoneskin, Mirror Image, Blur, etc... charging into battle baying for blood. A Sorcerer, like it or not, will find some situations difficult to handle because of his lack of melee skills. As such, I have always classified the Sorcerer as the second easiest to solo with. Also, you have to bear in mind that not everybody bothers to study how magic works in the game. It is one thing to tell somebody to whack a monster, it is another trying to explain to him why this spell works and why that doesn't. |

quote: Oh, no doubt!! In my current game, I figured it was about time for my solo level 12/15 Kensai/mage to get hold of the Celestial Fury. My first try at the Guarded Compound, I used 'old-school' melee tactics and tried to win with weapons only. Needless to say, I got my lunch handed to me... Then I tried again using Haste, Prot from Magic Weapons, Stoneskin, Minor Spell Turning, Prot from Evil, Draw upon Holy Might. I ran through the first floor, didn't bother with the Djinn, Glabrezu etc. Ran upstairs, and took out the dude with the CF in one hit. Picked up my prize and anihilated everyone else upstairs and down with it, still had 160/160 HP!! |

Foo, how you can have that much hit points? My kensai/mage (level 16/20) only has a bit over 100, and yes, my con is 18.

Sorcerers rule but I would love to try a druid sometime. Have done a Kensai too.

Mage Kit of some sort. Invoker or Necromancer perhaps.
Tensors Transformation Spell ... Mages HP are doubled ... Mage fights like a fighter Items ... Amulet of Power (immune to level drain) ... Robe of Vecna (-5 segments on spell casting time) ... Ring of Wizardry (extra 5th-8th level spells) ... Ring of Regeneration (available in Spell Hold) Super Spells (Throne of Bhaal Must Be Installed) ... Summon Planeteer Enough Said
