saddam didnt use them even when he was getting creamed, and none have been found so far except things that were already recognized by the weapon inspectors. also, hans blix said today that most of the evidence presented by britan and the us regarding iraq's womds to make a case for war (like the 500ton uranium import from niger) were forgeries. he also said that the return of the weapons inspectors (in an observer only role) would be useful to give credibility to eventual findings by us teams, but the us has refused so far.
so, when are they going to "appear"? ![]()

No Noro - you are quite correct - but apparently it could take years to find those WOMD now - makes you wonder why Blix wasn't afforded a little longer doesn't it?

Well, as i've said before, they've found some agents, but not all that much. I still think it's hidden somewhere. Time will tell i suppose, or maybe one of his former buddies. I simply can't see why he wouldn't have them anymore. He's used them on two occasions that i know of, and i don't think he got rid of them, just because some other nations asked him to.

According to the UN, France, Germany and Russia just today, they must be there, because they refuse to alow the lifting of sanctions on Iraq untill they have been found and destroyed by Hans Blix. U.S. President Bush asked the UN to lift the sanction on Iraq today since the Government that they were imposed on is no longer in existance. However the people getting huge profits from the food for oil program refuse to allow the sanctions to be lifted.
Don't blame the US for Iraqi hunger and poverty now. The Oil for food program has apparently been turned into one of the most corrupt operations going, and it is netting some rather prominent anti-war types large chunks of cash....Kofi Annan (sp) today said that they could see lifting the sanctions some day but not untill after UN weapons Inspectors and Hans Blix have found all the WoMD that Iraq has...that were denied when the US wanted help with the war but are now being used as an excuse now that the war is over..... Hmmmm Edit: just some little factoids...the Botulinum toxin that Iraq admitted to having produced and not accounted for = 19,000 litres. 1gram of Botulinum toxin if properly aerasolized will kill up to 1,000,000 people. Botulinum toxin is the "Most Toxic Substance" known to man according to JAMA (Journal of American Medicine) Iraq admitted to making enough of this stuff to kill the entire worlds population 3 times over. I am still waiting for a particular complex in the North east of Iraq to be inspected and the contents announced....but am thinking the the Military may be keeping some things quiet. There are also rumors that some of the WoMD were given to muslim extremists to smuggle out...but right now nothing can account for their abscence...except for speculation. Tiem will tell. I hope more evidence is found...but in the mean time the UN needs to lift the sanctions. |

I think the term used was "...when Iraq has been declared free of WoMD", Which may mean when they are found and destroyed or when it is decided that they weren't there in the first place.
Anyways - it looks as if the Blix team will have to be re-admitted to continue their search. Unless the US wants to go against a UN resolution of course.
