it seems logical that there would be a 4/2 apr for high mastery

Again. Why?

How does that explain why you think +1 ApR is overpowered? In what way does it affect the gameplay for the Fighter? Linear progression will not always mean that a trait does not become overpowered.

You have to give a more reasonable and rational explanation on your comment, because at the moment, it seems more of a hasty judgement. Jumping the gun so to speak.

Dundee, Klorox isn't saying that Grandmastery's +1 to ApR is overpowered, he's just saying that it seems too sudden, and I agree. Instead of jumping from 1.5 ApR all the way up to 2.5, I feel it should be 1.5, then 2.0, and then 2.5, as the player goes from Mastery to High Mastery to Grandmastery.

Are you sure about these thetruth? I must admit I am pretty rusty with the mechanics of BG/IWD but I thought that the original proficiency table for BG2 granted no damage bonus for being a High Master (only the minor weapon speed adjustment) and only a +1 damage bonus at Grand Mastery (bringing the total damage adjustment to +3) with there being no further speed factor adjustment at Grand Mastery level?

Furthermore, with the Grand Mastery patch (to restore GM to how it was in BG and IWD) I was under the impression that weapon speed was not adjusted?

Stating 1 ApR for a single proficiency point is also misleading, since all characters have 1 ApR base anyway and adding a proficiency point will not grant a further 1 ApR (unless that character is a post level 13 warrior, hence the removal of the penalties with the initial proficiency point).
