Currently started new SOA game (TOB loaded) with fighter that has 2 stars in flail, 2 in hammer and 2 in dual wield. Is it worth it to grand master in hammers or is two (3 or 4) the best way to go??? If the bonuses are not worth it I would just as soon get him proficient in other weapons. Thanks.

In tob there is a fascinating new flail "Flail of the Ages +5" and not "Flail of the ages +3".It's a brand new great weapon.

I think you should try to get grandmastery in Two-handed swords. There are a lot of those in the game.

If you're just looking for attacks per round, two stars will max you out. If you have the grandmastery patch (I'm loving mine!) available from the Balderdash site, grandmastery means an extra half attack per round (in which case I say OH YEAH!).
Otherwise from 2 to 3 grants plus one to hit, 3 to 4 is a speed factor increase, and 4 to 5 is plus one to damage. Big Whoop. |

You're a fighter, your whole advantage is grand mastery. You can only use two weapons at a time so why get proficient in lots. Grand mastery is still +1 damage per each of 4 or five attacks per round. Better than nothing.

Grandmastery all the way. You should max out two weapons style too. Your fighter should have some nasty penalities since you're using two weapons. I like the Runehammer +5, it's so easy to put together. Gives you have permanent negative plane protection. Yeah!!!
