True, the album covers are definetly better, but Blackened is way better than 666. [Thinks of funny impersonation of "I have the fire, I have the force, I have the power to make my evil take it's course" in a Sean Connery voish]

Metallica is good. There is so many good metal bands out there.

Metal is good But METALCORE AND HARDCORE ARE WAY BETTER "IKILLEDTHEPROMQUEEN" CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

I chose Metallica, although I really love both bands. Metallica just does something for me, and *Run to the Hills*, and *666* are great songs, but I could sit and listen to *Orion*, and *To Live is to Die* all day.
Metal is it's own category, and I didn't like either choice, Nothing wrong with .38 Special, or Lynyrd Skynyrd. I'm into Joe Satriani, and Yngwie Malmsteen too.

i would agree on the metalcore, and hardcore being better. But metalica is the better of the two in my opinoin.

Like both bands so I chose other, both havn't made a good album since early '90s.

I like both bands...and as a bassist, both Cliff and Harris are great fun to play (Think Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) and IM's 666 or 'Iron Maiden'). I chose Maiden though, as punishment for metallica's last few albums, and reward for 2 Minutes to Midnight and The Trooper. Of course...IM's last few albums weren't worth mention either

I'm into an off-genre metal thing at the moment - speed, death, black; if it's fast, has a powerful progression, and a morbid message I can't get enough of it.

Check out Candlemass for some heavy, melodic early-ish metal that's delivered with a strangely attractive slow pace, a la Black Sabbath. The band Bolt Thrower lists them as a primary influence (also worth a listen IMO). I like about 1000 metal bands, but Candlemass is my most recent discovery.
