Sorry, busy couple of days.

Anyway, the com does not prevent imprisonment. When I looked at it, I guessed it was because imprisonment was not *cast* but rather a *touch* spell????

In the improved beholder lair though, you do get caught inbetween because even if you try to draw them out, more keep coming up from behind you. They are definately smarter.

I did use spell immunity: abjuration, but it doesn't last long, and as far as I could tell, the beholder never tried imprisonment until it wore off. Naturally, next time around, multiple copies of it, still, once they have you trapped, you are lucky to cast anything since they are bumping you from all sides at this point.

I did finally make it, with a lot of backwards running into a culdesac I guess I have to call it.

I was saving my protection from magic for the golden bones stuff. Where there used to be three minotaurs, there are now two liches, three minotaurs, and at least 4 skeleton warriers. I use a protection from the undead there, but later, I had always used the scroll downstairs there, and in the twisted rune quest.

Anyway, I'm a fighter/mage/thief, and believe me, it took a long time to build up xp as a solo when you are three things instead of two, but I was tired of not being a thief, and not being able to use some of the swords to experiment with. I was running out of minor thugs and stuff before I felt prepared to take anyone on.

Now, with the new, improved, and *interesting* fights, I believe he coined it mod, I'm getting all the xp and $ I can stand. I don't think I could do this one this way without the staff of magi though.

Those triple potioned, buffed up, hasted groups in the city and docks are pretty rough stuff.

Maybe later, if I get better.

Just for clarification. Spell Immunity:Abjuration will protect against an Elder Orb's Imprisonment. The thing most probably cast an Anti-Magic Ray on you first. Quite annoying that.

He has the Improved Beholder mod installed. With it, some beholder rays ignore the shield.

Dundee, havn't you checked the last Spell Reference update?

We found a spell that blocks Anti Magic rays completely!

HINT: Check out the Spell Shield description.

But doesnt a beholder cast Anti-magic rays like he's got nothing else to do ?
1 Anti-magic ray O.k. .. but 2 or 3 in a row .. no spell shield is holding that back right ?

Wrong.

The fun part about this new Spell Shield is that the Anti Magic ray does NOT dispel it!
You're safe from the pestering rays for the entire duration of the spell!

This is especially useful when Solo - the Anti Magic rays are something like Breach + Spellstrike + Insect Plague combined (!), but with no damage.

We're working on further Anti-Beholders defenses for the Version.
Stay tuned.

Interesting. I will have to take note of that.

Although traditionally, the Mislead exploit works better.

Too bad that the Improved Beholders can see through invisibility...
