Has anyone had trouble with Minsc killing civillians in the Copper Coronet?
Everytime I enter the Copper Coronet since the battle there Minsc attacks & kills someone which lowers my reputation by 5. I have tried going in without Minsc having any weopons but he still manages to find a bow & kills someone. I have had to leave him out of the party just so I can enter the Copper Coronet to get some missions. I would prefer to keep him because he is my best fighter. Any suggestions?

i do not see trouble in killing civilians
seriously : i had a hostile civilian in the CC once, too. i tried to pickpocket madam nim (nice one) and failed, she got hostile. i killed her fast and no other noticed it ... i thought. i got around and did normal questaction and did get the other quests. before i wanted to leave into the sewers i wanted to rest at the entrance. i was not able to, hostiles were near. huh? then i found my enemy : it was the damn SLEEPING dwarf in that secret marihuana cave. WTF ? of any commoners, how CAN this one notice a failed pickpocket in a COMPLETELY different room ?! did you pickpocket nim ?

That is one of the major drawbacks of BG anyway... You cant play a truly evil character because it does not matter where you kill someone, they always find out even if you eat the body and animate the bones... If you are in the middle of nowhere people just find out that is was you.... Does not make sense... Same goes for picking pockets... you pick someone in the middle of nowhere, everyone finds out... (even if you kill the lout)

Try turning the AI off...the small lantern thing in the bottom right corner.

Maybe someone was looking at Boo the wrong way and Minsc got jealous? Who knows what drives someone like him to violence... *shrug*

The nobleman in the Copper Coronet is ringed in red but does not attack. I think that if I switch off the AI Minsc may not attack.
I don't know why the nobleman is ringed in red. Perhaps he got caught up with some colateral damage in the battle. I've had the same problem when I killed Baron Ployer. I took him out into the street & executed him, but all the people in the street became ringed in red. I don't remember if that was before or after I installed the patch yesterday. I hope it was after, it would do no good to have all the town ringed in red, I couldn't take Minsc anywhere.

As I said, the AI switch solves that problem, unless it's a bug. However, if the nobleman was caught in the battle, he will be hostile until dispatched...Try summoning a Pit Fiend in the Coronet when you finish all the quests and get the cool items. Use PfE on your party, and watch your demon rip everyone to shreds =) No Rep. loss, too.

Thanks for the help crew.
I have to just make sure that I have that AI lantern off. Today I forgot & Jaheira dispatched the nobleman. Welcome back to the team Minsc! Pyrenk, you are an evil evil person. I will have to try that pit demon trick when I get to a high enough level to get one. |
