Solo Sorcerer-is this the hardest way?

Don`t understand me wrong. I have soloed Sorcerer(s) and I know that they are easy.
I am thinkhing about this kind of solo(the hardest):

Ring of Clumsiness-75% spell failure
Amulet of Power
Robe of Vecan

What do you say? Is there something worst? Any suggestions?

Yea, The Ring of course, an Adventurer's Robe, and the Amulet of MR 5%.

Doesn't matter if you have the Ring of Clumsiness, the Robe of Vecna is just too potent if you're looking to go for the hard way [img]tongue.gif[/img]

OK. So without the Amulet and Robe. Altough you should need Amulet to protect yourself from Level Drain. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Well, ok, I will stick to the Amulet because fighting Bodhi or her minions without it is well near suicide for a mage. But being reasonable, soloing for a challenge with a sorcerer you have to leave out the highly powerful equipment because he's strong enough in his higher levels. I would give him... Robe of the Good/Neutral/Evil Archmage, Quarterstaff +3, Amulet of Power, Ring of Clumsiness (if you want), and the Boots of Phasing.

Hardest: Solo Sorcerer, no offensive spells, Insane, no-reloads, Tactics and Ascension installed, and the total amount of equipment on you must not exceed a sale value of 5k together. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Anyways, you know what 75% spell failure means? It's very bad. Imagine you have a Thief (with 1 ApR) with a thac0 of 15, and the enemy has an AC of 0. The amount of times that Thief will hit is about the amount of spells you get off. In other words, what you're going to have to do is rely on summons/prebuffs, and the summons better darn well be summoned with a Wand, or you're going to have to Reload many times just trying to get them to appear. Then, you'll waste, on average, 2 Stoneskins, just to get one up. Of course, you could melee. Then, you have to use a decent weapon. And your Dexterity, due to that great ring you have on, is halved. Whee... I think that your estimate of reloading every 5 hours is just a tad optimistic. You're going to be reloading a lot more in Improved Ilyich. [img]smile.gif[/img]
